A huge thank you to
@kristantopantioso for all your guidance in preparing me for this. It’s such an honor to be your student and to have your trust as I pursue the classical route in singing. I know it’s not perfect, but it’s truly the best I’ve ever done, and I’m so proud of it!
Thank you to
@musicasa.jakarta for not only giving me the chance to make music, but also for helping me continue honing my musicality — something that has been with me for such a long time.
And last but not least,
@danz_pianist , thank you for being willing to collaborate with me. It’s a dream come true to perform with one of, if not the most, talented musicians ever — someone who always pours his heart into the music and delves deeply into each piece, honoring every detail of the composer’s intention.
Short Synopsis:
La Fleur que tu m’avais jetée (often simply called La fleur) is an aria from Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen (1875), sung by Don José in Act 2. In this aria, Don José confesses his deep, consuming love for Carmen. He recalls the flower she once threw at him when he was on duty—a small gesture that became a powerful symbol of her hold over him. Even while imprisoned, he kept the flower, which dried but never lost its scent in his imagination, reminding him of her every day. Through this passionate declaration, Don José reveals how Carmen has completely captivated and transformed him, exposing the conflict between his duty as a soldier and his uncontrollable desire for her.
