In this fearless and funny solo show, Charlene Modeste confronts stigma, false narratives, and “immaculate misconceptions” with raw honesty and humor. She’s About to POP! shares her journey with uterine fibroids, cannabis as medicine, and the resilience it takes to find healing against the odds.
🎭 Charlene Modeste — actress, singer, songwriter, and storyteller — has been hailed as a “sultry diva” by the LA Times and earned a Critics’ Choice Documentary Award nomination for Best Narration (Riotsville, USA). A proud Brooklyn native of Caribbean descent, she now brings her story to the stage to raise awareness on women’s health and plant medicine.

Meet Shola Adewusi — actor, singer, and writer bringing her one-woman show Bitter Leaf Stew to the Un-Erasable Festival! 🎶✨
🍲 “Bitter Leaf Stew” is a full meal of new songs, narrated by Misty Lee Brown. Expect torch songs that burn, sweet melodies with a bitter edge, and a little theatre with your jazz. It’s truth-telling served hot — with a twist.
You may know Shola from her five seasons on the hit CBS sitcom Bob Hearts Abishola, or from films like Christopher Robin, Paddington 2, and The Riot Club. She’s also appeared on Netflix’s Turn Up Charlie (with Idris Elba), Chewing Gum, and even Shakespeare in the Park’s Merry Wives of Windsor. Beyond the screen, she’s an acclaimed jazz singer who has performed Bitter Leaf Stew at Joe’s Pub in New York.
