✨Although I focus a lot on less common species, of course I also produce some of the common species such as Dicksonia antarctica or Cyathea cooperi, although I always select the best mother plants to raise the most interesting babies 🏅 for example these Dicksonia antarctica in the photo, the origin of the mother plant of these babies is Mount Hotham, in Victoria, Australia, so the specimens that grow there are growing naturally in much colder conditions, with snow too❄️, than the commonly imported plants, and genetically I hope that are harder than plants grown from spores by other growers, they have a long way to go but I hope to have offspring from them in the future in order to offer the hardest Dicksonia antarctica on the market for my clients from colder climates, some of these I'll be putting up for sale very soon in case anyone wants to jump a few years ahead of the next batch.

It will take a while for them to adjust and they can go through the change for the first year, until their roots are well developed in their new spot and the plant gets established. In this particular case, due to the high humidity in the area, and thanks to a small irrigation system that keeps the soil moist, you can see that they grow wonderfully, very strong and with a robust trunk.
💢Did you know that the Cyathea felina is an endangered species? And that the vast majority of tree ferns are included in the CITES list?
The objective of this is to control that the market for these specimens does not pose a threat to the survival of the species, since they are vulnerable species to be considered in danger of extinction.
For the production and trade of these species, the permission and strict control of the CITES administrative authorities is necessary, and I can assure you that the vast majority of the specimens that you can find in the nurseries are produced without a license or control. Surprising right? 🤔

commonly known as its synonym Cyathea dealbata, is an impressive tree fern, in the Maori culture it is incredibly symbolic, it appears represented in a multitude of logos and shields, a very interesting fact is that it was formerly used by the tribes to leave a trace back home, as its leaves were showy at night, gleaming in the moonlight thanks to its silver underside 🌛.
It is slow at first, the specimen in the photo is currently 4 years old, they start with a horizontal and underground growth until they get a rhizome large enough to begin to rise vertically ⤴️.
