Trash Tramp is So excited to announce our newest Team Rider: Pilar Cayton. There is not enough space in an Instagram post to list her accomplishments, but here’s a small piece for you to soak up. She is an NAC SUP, OC, Kayak, and Surf ski instructor. Assistant coach for Makapo’s para outrigger racing team. She will be going to Singapore IVF to steer blind paddlers for an exhibition race this year. Making History she is!
Beginning in childhood, Pilar volunteered with multiple non profit organizations in So Cal and Utah; National Ability Center, Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy, and Sierra Club, to name a few. She is a Pilar in our community and Trash Tramp is grateful to have her on the team.

If you are racing in the Wild Buffalo Relay this coming weekend, meet up with Pilar as she leads the Trash Tramp Hike’s through Catalina. Pilar, with help from the Catalina Conservancy will be leading paddlers on a couple hikes around catalina where they will pick up trash and experience the beauty that is Catalina.

We’ve been cleaning a creek since 2020…
the before pictures are from 2022 and the after is 2024. Since 2020 we have removed over 6 tons of styrofoam, treated wood and other hazardous materials from the creek. There is still plenty of work to be done, what you cannot see is all the styrofoam that has grass growing over it. That’s gotta go.
