The thing that you will just always be working towards in your home studio, that professional assortment of whatever it is- glass in this case, brass sheet, iron rod, whatever, I don’t care. Half of working at a home studio will always be scrabbling around under the table for a scrap piece. Of using the wrong pliers. But this organization! This is a thing of beauty.
Summer of metal and solar labor - it seems like a good time as any to have some more apocalypse skills. It has been less 9am shipping pixels and more 2am conduit running and angle grinding. Thank you blacksmiths, sculptors and metalworkers for sharing your space and projects and knowledge, you’re the best.
I want to make garden sculptures and doors - setting up a home studio but it’s slow.

A week trad dadding in the incredible deserts of Utah.
10 years ago I didn’t even know about deserts and now they are among my favorite places. Everything changes.
@evidenceofllama : “I feel like a dad!”
Me on cracks: “I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer….”
@bored.ergo.boring : “This is second class.”
Was amazed by these dedicated fraudsters who pulled off this level of shenanigans (red dress! Quiche! Multiple flowers! Fruit the size of an infant’s head!) on a Monday morning. Skillful deception by @zalsmaphone and @samanthakanofsky , probably never ever cross those two...🤣
One year ago in Maine. I thought it was a really different time but actually, looking at my notes from that trip, the inside was the same. I was still looking for, inspired by, the same things. Joy, freedom, discipline, vibrant people, and ways to learn. It’s hard to be a dreamer, but you gotta keep dreaming. You, too.
