After touring a wedding venue yesterday, we paid a visit to a nearby train museum—one I hadn't visited since my childhood days. I was hoping to reenact a photo that my dad had taken of me, standing on the cowcatcher of a large steam locomotive: the Chesapeake & Ohio No. 2705. Unfortunately, it was left in utter disrepair and inaccessible to the public 🥹 I managed to snap a photo of it in its crowded siding. But what ended up being a pleasant surprise was the fact that a special event was taking place that day. Day Out with Thomas! One of my earliest memories was of watching a VHS special detailing the event. The idea that my childhood hero existed in real life filled me with such joy and excitement. But only once did I ever get to see him, after the festivities had long since ended. As an adult, I've taken to indulging myself in many of the dreams that my childhood self once had. I often find myself treating him like another person whose aspirations still have yet to be realized. Worry not little one, I'll make sure all of them come true ❤️ 📸: @libellephoto

Darling, I am so picky with words at times. I want to say a million things, and I somehow decide and then find another million ways I want to say it instead. So I decided, I’ll write a poem… From the start of a silent admiration Knowing little other than what I saw through my screen One day I found myself crash landing, excitement over a little bird, one of my favorites, as you now see And soon a tale as old as time, as simple as friends became a little more A yearning heart, a stubborn mind, and a little wishful thinking, kept growing, daring, dreaming One day that became a meeting, one day that became another meeting Then it became a story, with a chapter writing, hesitating, but curious ever more And in between the writing, came moments, laughter, tears, hugs, steps together, footprints left behind Each and every one of those moments became a treasure, and a reminder that this little love was one I could call mine ♥️ So today I think, “how’s it already been a year?” Such a big time, yet it passed so quickly, and felt like eternities all the same And I know more than ever, as I knew then, that truly there’s a time and a season, for that someone to join me for a dance in the rain. Sub Zero & Kars—an unlikely yet unstoppable duo. Would you believe me if I said this was the first ever photo we took together? It was at a Japanese pop culture convention—the same one where we had met for the first time the year before. Funnily enough, this was the day after our first date, though neither of us really knew what to call it back then. She had been a friend to me through thick and thin, yet not once had we just sat down and talked. I appeared rather dishevelled, with the long, unkempt hair I hadn't cut in eight months as part of a bucket list goal, and black splotches of paint on my face from the 3D-printed mask I had been wearing. She, on the other hand, was immaculate. Everything about her, inside and out, and I couldn't help but feel a tad shy in her presence alone. We continued chatting for a while, though only virtually, since we lived several states apart. I had accepted that I was likely going to be nothing more than a friend to her. But then, she sent that fateful text. I remember it—the feelings she confessed that I, too, shared yet found myself hiding. My jaw dropped, and for a while, I couldn't help but wonder if I had been dreaming. Since then, life has been just that—a dream. And last week, we celebrated our one year anniversary together!
