Celebrating Construction Month the right way! 🏗️
Honored to be selected by the BCCSA and VRCA for a Lunchbox Celebration grant. The Dallas Watt Demo, ACTES, and Urban Sawing teams recently gathered at the new Brigantine Drive office for a great afternoon of team building, prioritizing the people who make it all happen, and grabbing some incredible food catered by @asianconcessions .
A huge thank you to Rose Olsen from the Tailgate Toolkit (thetailgatetoolkit.ca) for joining in to lead a vital discussion on mental health in the construction and demolition industry. Physical safety on site is a priority every day, but having open conversations about mental health is just as critical for a strong, healthy crew.
This is how it’s done at BMG!

Pain shouldn’t be something anyone is expected to “push through.”
After 15 years of advocacy, Pain BC has launched the Guide Line — a free, confidential text service created specifically for trades workers across British Columbia.
For too long, people in physically demanding industries have been told to “walk it off” or accept pain as part of the job. The reality is different: chronic pain is widespread, often ignored, and rarely supported.
The Guide Line offers a simple, accessible first step — a space to be heard, to better understand pain, and to connect with resources that reflect the realities of trades work.

Because managing pain shouldn’t be done alone.
TRU’s Be Brave event brought together TRU students, staff, faculty and Kamloops community for an evening of reflection, learning and meaningful conversation.
Held in memory of BBA student Aaron Manson, the event raised awareness about mental health, addiction and the ongoing toxic drug crisis affecting our communities, with a focus on well-being in the trades and construction industry.
Thank you to the speakers for sharing their experiences and insights with honesty and care, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation.

Tailgate Toolkit's own Mika Dumont is helping spark real conversations about addiction, mental health, and the toxic drug crisis đź’¬
At an event honouring Aaron Manson, voices from across the community came together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind us that substance use impacts people from all walks of life. Dumont highlighted the urgent need for open dialogue—especially as thousands of lives in B.C. have been lost—emphasizing that talking about it can save lives.
“When we recover loudly, we keep others from dying quietly.” ❤️
Join us for this annual event held in memory of BBA student Aaron Manson, dedicated to raising awareness and fostering meaningful conversations about mental health, addiction and the toxic drug crisis. This year, the session will focus on well-being in the trades and construction industry.
