Meet the fam - Barrie, Jake, Lucas and Noel from @puritywine who will all be making appearances @bythewaywinefair For those of you new to By The Way, we started the fair to highlight small CA natural winemakers who are not always given the opportunity to showcase their wines in the marketplace. Being a mom and pop operation ourselves, breaking into retail shops and restaurants is a real challenge. By creating the fair, we want to give producers a chance to meet natural wine fans, connect and sell directly to them and introduce new makers to you! Your support keeps this community thriving and we’re so grateful to have you join us and be part of By The Way! ❤️❤️❤️ Noel + Barrie

Meet Adam and Nate from @lechill.wine who is pouring @bythewaywinefair Le Chill started with two friends in Los Angeles, Adam and Nate, chasing good wine and even better nights. We keep it small on purpose. Every vintage is a limited run, one time blend of grapes and whatever inspires us that year. Up till recently all our wines were small batch releases from Mt. Shasta working with Chad Hinds. Along the way we met Tony Coturri at a wine event and hit it off right away. That turned into time at his vineyard in Glen Ellen, learning the ropes from someone who has been doing this naturally for almost fifty years. Now that spirit shows up in our collabs with Tony. It has been an honor to work alongside him on “Coltrane”, named after his dog, and “Vin de Tony”. We will be pouring both our Mt. Shasta wines and these new Tony releases at the festival for the first time.

Meet Patty from @yearofthesnakefoods who is popping up @bythewaywinefair Operating on Sundays out of the commercial kitchen of Morell’s Bread, Year of the Snake is a pop-up from baker Patty Lu. Hers is not a recent, pandemic-inspired undertaking; back in 2016, Lu, was a baker at big-time pastry operation Tartine, even helping to open the iconic chain’s South Korea location. Also in Lu’s resume is a stint at at another San Francisco institution, Outerlands, and another one as a part-time baker at From Roy, a luxury limited-edition panettone operation. Currently, in Berkeley, Year of the Snake is a much more intimate operation. It’s just Lu and her mother, who comes to help with the retail side of things, and a neat counter with the pastries proudly displayed. Year of the Snake, as of 2022, is her most intentional take on solo baking. The idea behind the business, Lu, 32, said, “is an Asian American bakery concept, and representative of my generation. I try to make it as creative as possible.” Excerpted from Nosh
