It has been an awesome project and a serious grind, but I feel like the mission has been achievedā¦ expand the imagination and raise the quality of my work!

18 months of relentless accountability and risking everything to try and take this art career up a level and be different!
A refusal to stop and an obsession to improve my circumstances has lead to a routine of mind numbing boredom and discipline. You donāt have to enjoy it to know itās good for you, but you do need to know that delaying gratification is something your future self will thank you for!
The biggest thing I have learnt is that nothing changes without drastic change, and often your situation needs to get worse before you kickstart a new mindset for that changeš”

Really trying to take my craft up a level with this one! I now have the canvas for my string art.
Things are always a limitation of your resources, which is where the patience is really tested. 15 months of work on other pieces has gone into getting me to the start line of this thousand-hour project. These ambitious projects are incredibly costly to create, but Iām here to see how good I can get this and investing everything I have is the cost of that š”
Next stages are to improve the bronze surface and rework it from P600 up to P5000 before the polishing process. It will be a mirror when Iām done šš½
After that I will drill thousands of holes in the helmet for the needles and get going with my string design of gods, angels and warriors.
Final stage will be encasing the string in resin so it looks like the helmet is glass with needles and string in it. Then finalise the plinth shape and fix it on a black marble base. It will be special! Iām a man on a mission š«”š

2025 Compilation!
Another year of āfinding a wayā and figuring things out as I go!
Endless setbacksā¦ some seriously good f*** ups šš½ combined with sleepless nights and overwhelming stress, but a relentless attitude to keep showing up and chasing this obsession of mine!
A mountain of pride in the effort put in to make this dream of mine a reality. The unseen work is what makes things happen!
Speaking of unseen workā¦ Iām in the early stages of a few projects that will take my work to the next level. The enjoyment for me is in challenging the limit of my creativity and improving my ability.

Phase 2 begins soon!!
34kg of solid bronze! Next stage is to sculpt a futuristic helmet on him and then nail and string images of angels, gods and warriors on it before encasing everything in resin so it looks like glass.
Give me 5/6 months and it will be something seriously special š” swinging for the fences on this one to make it my best creation yet! Youāll see š¤š½
Bronze foundry lost wax process was done by my good friend @stevewinterburn He is the man that inspired me to learn sculpting and take things 3D. Cannot speak highly enough of his dedication and craftsmanship. Different league!

Always good to remember that you learn more when things go wrong. Iām here to get better and push things further, so I know 1 step back now will leapfrog me 10 steps ahead in the future.

Stage 1 of Bridgette complete! 8223 nails.
Experimenting with a new technique on this project. Instead of using string, I am going to use aluminium wire and then remove all the nails at the end so just the wire remains.
I will then create a black base to give the contrast with the silver wire and the image should be revealed! Could be a complete game changer, so Iām excited to see if it works šš½š”
Should take around 3 weeks to build all the layers of wire. Look forward to sharing some updates!

The most nails I have ever used in a piece! This was one of those mental endurance challenges that I love and crave. 63 days straight, over 700 hours and 147,121 nails. I will top that number one day!

I know this is a bit different to what I normally create, but this little project is all part of a bigger plan. Itās fun to experiment with new ways of incorporating colour in my art form.
