Uplifting the legacy of Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon today - October 4th - on what would have been her 82nd birthday.
Over the course of many moons I have called you Dr. Reagon, BJR, Bernice | Jegna | Rolemodel. Today, I call you Pure Spirit.
One of the myriad ways of being that Dr. Reagon inspired was the power and freedom in multitracking vocals. With that - I as WE - offer a soulful lullabyic rendition of “Ella’s Song,” one of her most enduring compositions that immortalizes her eternal impact.
In her words, I am simply “passing on to others that which was passed on to me.” Pure Spirit, your well-deserved rest has surely come.
