“PHOTOGRAPHY IS THERAPY FOR ME.” We concur, Martin Parr🙏❤️ Thankyou for finding the beauty in the mundane, the light in the dark, but ultimately helping us all to see the joy that is Photography. When you look at Martin Parr’s photographs you are constantly reminded that everyone’s existence is worth cherishing! Thankyou so much @martinparrstudio for all your wonderful Kodak Moments. We were SO beyond touched and grateful when he sent us a lovely email, completely out of the blue,😭 And it’s something that we return to often as a reminder to keep on showing up, and doing the work. We love you so much Martin! Rest easy ! ❤️🕊️

WHERE’S TERRY?? As far as we are concerned, Terry Richardson was cancelled 🤷🏼‍♀️ Richardson- fashion photographer, viewed by many as emblematic of some of the worst abusers in the fashion industry. He has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct over the years. His vile reputation took a major nose-dive as more people came forward with accusations of inappropriate and exploitative behaviour, particularly in relation to creepy photographic shoots. 🤮 Whilst he has denied many of the accusations, the consistent and disturbing nature of the reports, along with the broader reckoning around power abuse in creative industries (especially during the #metoomovement), meant that his career largely ended. By 2017 anyone with any integrity or morals severed ties.. OR SO WE THOUGHT. The ongoing prescence or reappearance of figures like Terry Richardson in any professional space, especially one as visible and influential as fashion is infuriating and emblematic of deeper systemic rot. I fail to see that we have learned anything at all from #metoo While there was a period where it seemed like real change might be taking place - with survivors being heard, perpetrators facing consequences, and institutions being forced to reckon with their complicity - it’s clear that momentum has stalled in too many corners. The re-emergence of abusers, or the quiet sweeping of allegations under the rug - sends a chilling message to survivors: that their pain is negotiable if the abuser is deemed valuable enough. Fashion - for all its claim of innovation, inclusivity and progress, too often chooses profits, shock value and legacy connections over ethics. There is an incredible amount of fresh talent and visionary artists to choose from that deserve those covers, campaigns and cultural influence - but they are too often overlooked in favour of names that bring “controversy,” which is just PR speak for ignoring them. FYI sexual abuse is one of THE most horrific things someone can suffer. Each time someone like Terry is platformed again, it’s a betrayal of every person who’s come forward - and a warning to those who haven’t. There should be no comeback tours for predators.

Repost from @alokvmenon ・・・ “I have always found the term “nonbinary” unsatisfactory as it requires us to define ourselves by our absence, and not our overabundant presence. I prefer infinity. There are as many ways to be and look like a woman as there are women, there are as many ways to be and look like a man as there are men, and there are as many ways to be and look like whatever gender you are. Clothing can be a vehicle of gender expression, of becoming different, new, and old selves. But we should get to decide what it means, rather than being told. Where they see “a man in a dress,” we see an infinite possibility of being. How dare we have the presumption to know, when we could just ask?” #tbt my essay on #degenderfashion for @theseptemberissues (link in bio!) portrait by @gibaela / makeup by @yblimited_official
