Forget mainstream events for a second. @freewaterfest , put together by artist @wasetaiwo , alongside @vntageparadise and @oovieaa was the real deal. It was a straight-up, no-filter moment for the Lagos underground scene.
@deelagram@luwa.mp4@indiiiluv@tochibedford@zamirkillingwtf@igweaka@s1ordie and loads more blew up the stage, ignoring genre rules and just delivering substance.
With backing from @nts_radio and @studiosamanyada , we just plugged Lagos’ true sound into the world. Freewater isn’t just a party; it’s a massive signal. The underground is here, and it’s setting the pace.
P.S. Interviews with the artists are dropping tomorrow. Don’t miss it.
Drafts & Dialogue is back!
In this edition of DND, we’re thrilled to be collaborating with @rantiee.fo , producer of Bolaji’s Balls, as we gather to watch, share, and dive deep into filmmaking, creativity, and the journey behind the body of work.
Our good friends at @goodfaithyoga would be hosting us again. A space that invites stillness, openness, and curiosity as we explore both polished films and raw, unfolding stories from diverse African creators.
On the 29th of November, we watch, listen, and connect through cinema.
Seats are limited. RSVP now to secure your spot (link in bio).
What started as field recordings on pedestrian bridges became a room full of shared stories.
We spent the day listening to Lagos in its rawest form and experiencing the essence of humanity through sound. Moving Parts reminded us that Lagos speaks, even when we’re not listening.
A big shout out to @yinkabernie for bringing us all together to pay attention to sounds that in one way or the other are a part of us. 🖤🤍
