Missed taking photos/videos while I was back in school. Now that I'm done (!!!) I decided to spend some time (so much time, I'm so rusty and getting this up on Instagram was surprisingly painful) putting this together from a fun day bouldering at Mono Mills. Had a hell of a time with PremierePro on my computer and I didn't have the patience to make it perfect but I still like how it turned out, and if I don't post it now...it'll never see the light of day!
Thank you to @katherine_vanderford and @amandarjara for a couple extra shots!!
Yes, it’s been really hot in Bishop. A week ago Bishop recorded its hottest temperature ever: 111 degrees. But we have fared better compared to the extreme weather facing other cities - and countries. Lucky for us, it’s easy to get up high and out of the heat - especially with Peter Croft’s “The Good, the Great and the Awesome” as a guide. Link in bio to a trip and photo report from Mt. Emerson. A reminder to mix the seemingly-endless amount of work with some head-clearing fun, whatever that is for you. I know I have a difficult time of finding that balance these days.

“I remarked to Ryan that this kind of thing was a huge part of why I started climbing: that feeling of looking at some piece or another of Earth’s majesty and imagining ourselves moving through it, touching it, existing confidently for a few fleeting moments in such a wild place…that feeling is like a superpower. And besides, climbing easy terrain for thousands of feet is just fun.”

Kept this shirt for 15 years, just for this moment. 🤣 Back @ucberkeleyofficial for a Master’s in Public Health. I was so delirious the other night from studying that I even wrote a little bit about it (there’s a link to it in our profile). Come at me with those Public Health questions — I probably won’t know the answer but I know who to ask!! @ucberkeleysph
We (humans) aren’t very good at critically thinking ahead. And most of the time, it doesn’t matter. Hell, sometimes you end up with a better story. And other times, you end up with two golf-sized blisters on the bottom of your feet. Link in bio (plus a few other backlogged stories) to catch you up on some major life changes.
Possibly turning into the type of person that likes training more than actual rock climbing. đź¤...But I love our back wall so much. I dare ya to find me a better portable training set up!
