It would be missing the whole point of songwriting, in my opinion, to avoid exploring all the shitty stuff. So let it never be said that I’m above being petty in a song. Wrote this one this morning, after getting some harsh criticism from someone who isn’t a songwriter but is an artist who I look up to. Part of me’s gonna take it on the chin — the other part’s gonna write a song about it, because *that’s* the whole point. ✍️
Side note: that key change sure is tricky on 12-string.
