Last night! (in a few pictures, for now 😉)
We don’t have the words, so we’ll let these pictures speak for themselves.
Over one hundred hands and hearts, months of love and labour. One community, one dress, one cape and one incredible night.
We are still pinching ourselves. From the very first stitch to the very last step on that runway this has always been yours.

What an absolutely beautiful inspiring evening celebrating the @therippleeffect6 Everything a community project and event should be, so much creativity, joy and pride.
The dress is stunning and the upcycled jackets were so incredibly beautiful, walking pieces of art that just made you want to stroke everyone.
Well done @netty.lou and team for an amazing event and @scraggymoo for transforming the community hall into a riot of underwater colour which reflected the joy and passion of everyone in the room to make positive changes to support the environment.
Thank you for letting me creat a small panel for the dress 💙🧡💛
Using a combination of denim and my shiborbi dyed fabrics, this small circle will go into a much bigger piece of fun, design...dress making! The Oceans touch every part of our lives,it sustains us, inspires us,and connects us. I'm really proud to be part of the Ripple Effect - a creative community fashion project that celebrates the beauty of our oceans, whilst raising awareness of why they must be protected.
inspired by David Attenborough's ocean work and of course to celebrate his 100th birthday this dress was revealed to coincide with his birthday celebrations.

Undercurrents took part in The Ripple Effect event— a collaborative project that brought together over a hundred creators and makers to craft something extraordinary: a dress, a cape, and a night to remember strutting our stuff on the runway in our upcycled jackets.
Every stitch and every shared moment reflected the power of collective effort and love to save our seas. 💙

What an unforgettable evening at The Ripple Effect Dress Reveal Celebration. 💙
Founded by Netty Lou and inspired by David Attenborough’s Ocean, this incredible community project brought together makers, artists and creatives to highlight the beauty of our oceans and the dangers they face, while also encouraging conversations around sustainability, fast fashion and protecting the world around us.
I felt truly privileged to be part of this project alongside two very special friends and so many wonderfully talented makers. Over 100 individual textile pieces were lovingly created and then stitched together to form one breathtaking dress, each section telling its own story through texture, colour, embroidery and reclaimed materials.
The evening itself was inspiring from beginning to end. From the striking shark cape and the upcycled denim jacket showcase, to the final reveal of the dress itself, every detail carried such passion, creativity and meaning. Seeing the finished piece on the catwalk was genuinely emotional and a powerful reminder of what can be created when community, art and purpose come together.
Huge thanks to @netty.lou@therippleeffect6@angelasunleyartist and @kgartanddesignuk for making this such a special experience. I feel very grateful to have been part of something so thoughtful, creative and important.
Every stitch really did create a ripple.

🎉🎊🥳Such a warm, heartfelt energy swept across Riddings Park Community Centre last night in Alfreton! The evening SHORE was emotional!! @netty.lou THAT DRESS!!!!!!!!How do you even begin to find the words!?!👗💙💦
❤One of my most favourite moments was to see people, friends and family gather around the dress in collective awe. Sparking so many conversations about the ocean, what inspired their textile piece and with over 100 people contributing towards the dress @therippleeffect6 a visual piece of wearable art has been created by the most adorable human bean bouncing around our [email protected] 🥰💙🧵🪡🌎
The evening was full of talks and a catwalk! From capes to upcycled denim jackets, tea and cake to showcasing all the junk modelling at the creative workshop we did that became the marine eco-system archway.🌸🌼🐚🐙
They say when you find your tribe, love them hard. @netty.lou@_laura_burrill_ and @susie.lambert.16 you all glimmer with such pure joy and creativity!!!💛Thank you all for being so selfless and genuine in your quest to help others!!🥰❤💚💜🧡💛💙💖

Happy 💯 th Birthday, Sir David Attenborough!
One hundred years of life. A lifetime of giving voice to our planet.
From the depths of the ocean to the peaks of the highest mountains, Sir David has taken us on a journey through the natural world like no one else ever could. His words have sparked wonder, ignited conservation movements and reminded generations of people why this Earth is worth fighting for.
At 100 years old, he remains one of the greatest storytellers and champions of nature our world has ever known. 🐋🦁🌿
Here’s to the man who made us all fall in love with the planet we call home. Thank you, Sir David for every breathtaking moment, every urgent warning and every reason you gave us to care.
“No one will protect what they don’t care about and no one will care about what they have never experienced.” — Sir David Attenborough

How cool is this?
I spotted this amazing wire fish sculpture in Cyprus and had to stop the car! it’s actually a plastic waste collection bin! 🌍♻️
What a brilliant and creative way to raise awareness about plastic pollution in our oceans.
The fish is literally full of plastic bottles and packaging, making the message impossible to miss.
A fish eating our plastic waste, the irony is real and it hits hard.
Absolutely love seeing environmental messages delivered with such creativity. Cyprus, you’ve got this one spot on! 🇨🇾
If this doesn’t make you think twice about disposal of your single use plastic, I don’t know what will!
