Motocross standing position strength 👇🏼
When we ride MX, a lot of time is spent in the top half of the squat. When training, we commonly resort to deep range of motion (ROM) squats, step ups, and lunges, which is great for building strength, but what if we can get more specific? 🤔
Doing a mid-shin height single leg step allows us to add more load to the bar than a traditional full ROM step up or split squat, helping build strength in the top half of the movement, mostly from improving neuromuscular coordination 🧠💪🏼
Does this mean you should ditch the full ROM squats? No! They’re still excellent for leg strength and other areas of riding, like when you go from a seated to standing position 🏋🏻
BUT… Try these mid-shin or 1/2 ROM squat variations, you might be surprised how much you can lift! 😎

Marathon X K1 - Complete👨💼📈
2 weeks ago I paddled 37km in my K1. 2 days later @philipbryde1 completed the full marathon, so naturally I had to come back and give it a nudge.
Pretty stoked to tick this one off.
*This was completed on the Avon, fully solo, no wash leads, no music, just my Garmin, paddle and boat.

Shout out to @carson_carroll911 who recently had his first racing experience in AUS 🇦🇺 coming away with 8th overall in a very competitive 13-u15 125cc class.
Now back in NZ working hard towards his first year of senior MX racing 💪🏼 MX sure is a full on schedule when you’re at the age where you can race juniors & seniors!
Impressive week for @mazparkes at AJMX 🇦🇺. Moto podium in final 1, then a couple small mistakes in finals 2 & 3 but showed good fight and came through the pack. Still managed a well deserved P5 OA 👏🏼👏🏼
Tough lead up for Maz with some injuries, but he put his head down, kept working, and has set himself up for a good NZ season to come.
Lots of great people in Maz’s corner and were stoked to be playing our small part 😎
Full body mini-circuit for MX
Complete 2-4 sets depending on the rest of your session:
A1) DB Thrusters - 15 reps
A2) TD alt DB row - 8 reps each side (16 total)
A3) Swiss ball push up w/ knee tuck - as many as possible
Use this as a finisher after a strength focused session, or just as a quick, easy, way to get the full body working when in the gym.
