May 5th is Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day)—a day to celebrate resilience and a courageous heart🎏 To mark the occasion, families traditionally display Hariko Tigers, handcrafted guardians believed to protect and inspire the next generation. These soulful figures were created by Takehisa Mamoru Shoten, a two-generation family workshop in Okayama founded in 1957. While their original production has now come to a close, Ten & Sen is honored to introduce these remaining pieces to you. We are teaming up with our friends across the street at the Rice Factory to celebrate another early Valentine’s Day with a Mochi Pairing!
