Building a local reuse economy over the last 14 years has been a hard & wild ride, but everyday we are giving it our ALL because we know we NEED a different system. Overconsumption has wrecked havoc on our ecosystems: resource depletion, pollution, animal habitat loss, CO2 emissions. It also is responsible for some pretty horrific human rights abuses that go unseen by most. Expanding reuse is a beautiful strategy to address all of these concerns while also helping our local community access lower cost & free items!
Our charitable giving program has grown dramatically! Already this year we’ve been able to gift $15,000 worth of household goods, furniture & clothing to community members in need. Our community center is thriving & our many free events (such as monthly clothing swaps & book swaps) are gaining popularity. Our pickup & delivery service has been improving accessibility and landfill diversion rates because we offer a very necessary service of transporting large items.
Today we are asking for support to increase all of the ways we help our community listed above, plus our expansion plans! Our nonprofit is break-even every year. The majority of our income goes to paying our hardworking staff! We are proud of our green job creation! Our expansions have all been fundraised outside of our normal reuse store sales. We are very fortunate to have been awarded a Zero Waste Grant from the Alachua County Board of Commissions to begin the renovation in addition to a generous grant from an anonymous donor! We need to raise another $20,000 to complete the inside renovation & open the facility.

All these rolls of sewing fabric are out in the store today — each with a measurement and a price on the label. We rely upon volunteers to help sort, measure, and package all our fabric donations, so here is another thank you to those volunteers! We are so grateful to have your help.
