Actress. Director. Playwright. Educator. Activist.
The Village is proud to honor Golden Globe winning actress Regina A. Taylor. A Dallas native currently residing in Oak Cliff, Ms. Taylors talents have taken her across the world, earning her a NACCAP Image Award and an Emmy nomination. From the silver screen to Netflix and Broadway Ms. Taylor represents what breaking glass ceilings looks like, having been the the first Black woman to play William Shakespeare's Juliet on Broadway. When she thinks of home, and her childhood in Dallas Ms. Taylor recalls the big Texas sky, the sense of possibility, and the endless horizons that it seemed to promise. The Village thanks Ms. Taylor for committing her life to artistic expression and the expansion of horizons for generations to come.
