Love a good live cover. Kishi Bashi’s live version of “This Must Be The Place (Naive Version),” by The Talking Heads. Terminal West, Atlanta, GA 4/17/2026
This was another early attempt at personal interviews. Jennifer was kind enough to answer some questions while I was checking out at the Giant Eagle. I had no idea what I was doing at the time with these interviews. I’m still not really sure what I’m doing, but it’s fun and it kills boredom really easily. Anyways, say hi to Jennifer!
I’ve been trying to stay off my phone recently and I’ll ask people in line if they have any good food recommendations in the surrounding area. Got this place recommended to me by a couple while we were waiting in line at the Best Buy nearby. It was an exceptional experience and I was happy to support a local plant-based business. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth it cause they put a lot of love into their food and drinks. Highly recommend the Tamarind drink and the Tostones and Guac. Pretty sure you can’t go wrong with this menu. Everything that I saw in person looked incredible. I also made a new friend while we waited on our food. Shout out to @atlfoodbae for keeping me company and chatting about vegan spots in town! She has a local art gallery in town that she’s invited me and friends to attend. They do Taco Tuesdays with a meetup at the gallery and handmade plant-based tacos. Anyone want to go with me?
Give me a glass of wine in Little Italy and I’ll pretend I can speak fluent Italian! Fun fact, I actually minored in Italian in college. More fun facts, if you don’t keep up with a language, you can lose it almost entirely! Luciana was one of the first people I met in Little Italy. She works at Mama Santa’s, a restaurant that’s famous in Little Italy for their pizza. The people at the restaurant were very welcoming and it felt like I was walking into a family home in Italy to get a meal. For plant based eaters, the options were limited here. I still had a good pasta meal and a nice glass of wine. The treat for me at Mama Santa’s was the culture! I enjoyed practicing Italian with the people at the front and learning about their various backgrounds. It’s a great place to visit if you want a little taste of Italy.
This is an Extraordinary pizza spot that cares about their ingredients and their presentation. My friend, Brad, found the spot via this app, Seed Oil Scout. It’s an app that finds restaurants that use only specific types of oils such as EVOO and Avocado Oil as opposed to more refined oils, like Vegetable or Canola Oil. Their name, Mister 01 Extraordinary Pizza, lives up to the hype. It’s the kind of food that doesn’t sit too heavy on the stomach. It was just right. I could tell that they take pride in their restaurant, because my friend, James, had to wait for his pizza. The first one they made for him was unacceptable and they knew it. It takes a Great management team to say “not good enough” in the kitchen. I think James would agree that his pizza was worth the wait. Check them out if you’re in the Sandy Springs area. Also, don’t miss that after-meal walk over to the little park nearby!
Please feel free to add more to this discussion if you have some favorite recycling centers in Atlanta, GA.
If anyone lives near North Decatur, I’d be happy to set up a spot to drop recycling so it only has to be one trip. Let me know if you’re interested.
Happy adventuring!
Sandwich/Dislodge Theory. Only on YouTube: “The Recurring Dream”, or buy me a free lunch and I’ll tell you. I’m pretty excited about it, I’ll probably just tell you anyways. Link in bio will self-destruct after opening (not really, it just sounded cool with the music)
@wylieandrum The Owner and the General Manager at this spot have created an excellent work environment for their staff. This is a great place to go on a nice spring or summer day. There’s plenty of outdoor seating. My favorite spot was at the bar, chatting with the bartenders. Everyone at this spot is best friend material, but don’t cross them because they will throw elbows. This ain’t no regular Mom and Pop shop. They have a 1Up Arcade there, I think it was Xmen Street Fighter. Gotta go find out for yourself. Also, one of the dudes that works there brings in consoles to play games too. They have Trivia on Wednesday nights and they are starting Friday night Movie Night, they already started it so go on a Friday! They also have tons of drink specials throughout the week and a solid lunch menu with some good prices for tons of food. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind restaurant in Atlanta, GA! I will definitely be making this a regular spot in town!
