Iām still not exactly sure how me and @anandwildermusic became friends. I think @walterfancourt showed him a video of mine or visa versa - but we definitely clicked.
he didnāt know the themes of my new record were weight loss and working out, etc. when he wrote the lyrics to this song⦠Very serendipitous. We have a really similar sense of humor, we were both in bands in the 00ās that provided people with a great backdrop for a really profound psychedelic drug experience, and Anandās sheer love for music continues to inspire me. Heās a lifer like me. I learn a lot from him just goofing around. He is making the best music of his career right now, so go check his new album out and keep listening to our awesome collaboration āPersonal Trainerā available on 12 inch LP via @therecordmachine and streaming everywhere except for @spotify because Spotify takes your money and invested in AI weapons of war.
sorry for the funky zoom on the video in this carousel⦠they are multibillion dollar company but Instagram just hasnāt quite cracked the code on making carousels with different aspect ratios. Maybe a few billion more dollars Iāll get them there. #touringmusician #tourlife #musiciansofinstagram #bandlife
Another really amazing collab on āPROBLEMS GETTING HARDā was āPersonal Trainerā. This song started with its gonzo horn loop and bass line that mirrored it with some octave play. I was struggling to write lyrics so I put a video clip of it on my Instagram and said āI am going to trash this song unless someone wants to write vocals to itā which was not an empty threat. Luckily @anandwildermusic rescued it and brought it back to life.
Iāll post again tomorrow with another clip and some background on how me and Anand became friends.
āPROBLEMS GETTING HARDā is streaming everywhere except Spotify and is available on 12ā lp via The Record Machine.
They Are Still Here mis the first single from my upcoming EP, Birds Are Real, & They Haunt Me. A glitchy, ambient digital soul shaped by modular synthesis, the track unfolds like a looping transmission, building to a quiet realization: They are still here, and they still haunt me.
Shout out to @zeitgeese for the cover photo
