C'est ce qui motive les visionnaires qui dirigent le Muslim Media Hub.
Derrière moi, un groupe de cinéastes en herbe prépare ses projets dans le cadre du Short Film Lab, un programme de 10 semaines au cours duquel ils bénéficient d'un mentorat, d'un accès à du matériel et d'une aide technique pour partager des histoires sur qui nous sommes en tant que musulmans canadiens.
Au moment où je vous parle, ils travaillent sur des films qui présentent des profils de musulmans canadiens éminents, racontent l'histoire de personnages historiques et mettent en lumière des organisations communautaires qui redonnent à la société canadienne dans son ensemble.
Ce n'est qu'un des nombreux projets du Hub, qui comprend également des courts métrages d'animation et des documentaires qui ont impressionné les dirigeants de la CBC et d'autres leaders de l'industrie.
Je ne sais pas ce que vous en pensez, mais je trouve tout cela très inspirant : les musulmans canadiens continuent de lutter contre les discours qui tentent de nous marginaliser ou de nous déshumaniser.
Au contraire, nous insistons courageusement pour montrer au monde qui nous sommes vraiment et pour raconter nos propres histoires. Suivez le Muslim Media Hub pour en savoir plus sur leur travail fantastique.
