Arizona is just stunning, truly the perfect place for me. I walk and I'm almost constantly in awe at the unique beauty surrounding me.
And by Arizona I DO NOT mean Phoenix. You will not see such beauty on a walk through Phoenix without going out of your way to hike somewhere you have to drive to. Phoenix is cool for concerts and museums, that's about it. Small town Arizona is where it's at.

Celebration time!!
Not knowing yourself as an adult without an addiction, at 49 years of age, is pretty sad. Making the choice to finally learn who you are without any addictions whatsoever and succeeding is cause for celebration!!
Nicotine is actually a lot more harmful than I thought. I read about the effects it has as I was preparing to quit and it's a lot deeper than you'd think, also a lot deeper than those who want you to switch to vaping will tell you. Vaping CAN help you quit nicotine if you use it properly, but it can also become an even stronger addiction because you can vape in places you can't smoke, plus the disposable vapes and nic salt eliquids have way more nicotine than cigs AND they taste really good so you end up with a dopamine hit every time you pull.

I'm really feeling this beautiful planet's pain today, it's something I'm always conscious of but today I'm like a conduit for the release of some of that pain and I wouldn't have it any other way. I fucking love this beautiful planet, the one that enables me to exist and provides me with so much beauty to see and experience. I don't love how it's destroyed for minerals and metals and other things we can live without. I can't stand the disrespect so many have for this place. It breaks my fucking heart seeing the destruction for gas and oil and the hideous refineries built along coastlines that would otherwise be beautiful ecosystems and provide us with beautiful views. Yes, my ability to view a coastline without having to see an ugly refinery is far more important than you, or I, being able to drive a car.

These have worked so well in preventing me from buying another vape after disposing of a refillable pod system and various eliquids and two disposable vapes. Quitting feels quite different this time, it's been the hand to mouth part of the habit and the dopamine hit from the delicious flavors that's really held me back.
I quit smoking by switching to vaping, thinking "this will make quitting nicotine so much easier". Thirteen years later still vaping after a couple of failed quits that lasted just a few days.
Until Wednesday (5.6.26) when I announced to family that I'm done vaping and handed over all my vapes to be disposed of by them. That's a step I'd skipped previously, announcing it to family, because I doubted myself so much that I knew I was gonna start vaping again within a week. I didn't wanna look like a failure to them and I just knew on some level I wasn't ready to fully quit even though a huge part of me wanted to.
Today, 5.9.26, 3 wake ups since my announcement, I haven't even been tempted to buy a vape no matter what the nicotine cravings feel like.
In fact I've only consumed 6 pieces of 4mg nicotine gum and 3 4mg nicotine lozenges (partially, never finished any of these aids) over the last 3 days, and mostly just breathed through one of these things instead. What a huge difference quitting with something like this is.

I'm not sure what kind of spider Rudolph is but from what I found with RIS it's either a wall spider or a running spider. Either way Rudolph is welcome in my home!
