Je veux partager avec vous le processus de création du sweat Double Culture. En tant que Maghrébine avec un fort bagage culturel, je suis sensible à la manière dont l’art du Maghreb est utilisé. J'ai donc eu à cœur de vous expliquer le cheminement de mon intention. Depuis toujours, j’aime l’artisanat, les matières naturelles, tout ce que l’homme a créé pour exprimer son amour de l’art et de Dieu : tapis, vases, peintures, et masques. De là, je me suis plongée dans les cultures voisines, puis à travers l’Afrique entière. Les tissus, les motifs, les objets d’art et de culte… jusqu’aux masques, porteurs de mille significations. Ce sweat rend hommage aux enfants d’immigrés, partagés entre deux cultures. Le masque rappelle nos racines, mais aussi celui que nous portons parfois pour cacher ce qui dérange ou celui que l’on nous impose : celui de nos origines. J’ai travaillé avec l'anthropologue Christian Sylvain spécialisée dans l’art tribal pour enrichir ma démarche et approfondir le sens des masques. Pour moi, s’inspirer de l’art et le faire vivre à travers nos créations est presque un devoir : transmettre aux générations futures le savoir et l’héritage de nos ancêtres. « Tant que cela vit, il y a de l’espoir. » — Christian Sylvain

Masks have always spoken to me. They tell stories of identity, protection, and the sacred. I wanted to give them a central place in my work, even in the smallest details. This mask-shaped key holder is an extension of that research. A piece developed by me, available via DM.
