6 months ago while recovering from an Achilles tear we found a new cardiologist that specialized in Evans POTS (Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) @drcutchins after testing diagnosed him with May Thurner Syndrome. Compression of the iliac veins that required 2 stents to get blood to his heart and lungs. Dr Lesar from Chattanooga Tennessee @vicvascular did the surgery. He’s finally off blood pressure medication and salt for the first time in 9 years. At 17 the cardiologist at the mayo clinic believed he would grow out of it. Unfortunately it only got worse from 17-20 years old. Making the main Saturday was a personal win for our family. To see the relief, how great he felt, and the excitement after the heat race brought me back to why we do this sport. Just those little moments that make it all worth it. We have done a lot of work to learn what workload Evans body can handle now and it is great. We are encouraged that people and awareness for venous disease and its correlation with POTS is now published. Thank you to David Eller and the entire @phxracinghonda team for 2nd chances 👊🏻

Congratulations to @crtwotwo and @mrstwotwo getting inducted into the motorcycle hall of fame tonight. I had never heard of Chad before he showed up at the Yamaha test track in late 2001. Obviously that changed very quickly lol. Him and Ellie spent most of the summer in 2002 at our place in Florida. Probably one of the most determined riders I’ve ever come across. Definitely one of the most stubborn haha in a good way. It was amazing to watch them start up 22 Motorsports and do it their way and be very successful. We’re still at the same tracks sharing the same passion with our kids today. Congratulations and enjoy this moment.
It was an honor to race for my country 3 times at MXON. Budds Creek 2007 goes down as my favorite. It wasn’t the toughest one I did but it’s the one that everybody remembers. RV’s dominant performance and RC’s last true motocross race was something special to be apart of on home spoil. Every race I go to people come up to me and tell me it was the greatest race they ever attended. Usually still wearing an event shirt 😂 good luck to the whole USA team this weekend 👏✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
Last week our whole family lost a great friend. Steve Reis @bikebld was our friend our neighbor and much more. He loved moto chevys the patriots first then the Bucs his friends and family the most. He will be missed but never forgotten. RIP Coach
Been really quiet on social media lately. Decided it was time to give everyone an update. My return to pro mx was delayed coming off of the Achilles injury I suffered in supercross. During my rehab of the Achilles, it was discovered a health issue I’ve been fighting my entire life wasn’t what I had . I was diagnosed at 12 yrs old with low blood pressure POTS like condition. Moving to Georgia had me seeing new doctors. I had an appt with a #POTS specialist I waited for 11 months for. I was told that day she believed that I had another condition entirely. It was confirmed to be May-Thurners which is a condition I had no idea I had, that was actually worsening. It didn’t seem real. After years of managing it the best we could and still being able to compete at a high level it is feeling like a miracle that there was a fix. My condition cut off the blood return to my heart and lungs, resulting in low blood pressure, asthma, and POTS like symptoms. I had stents put in June that have allowed a normal return of blood flow. My lifestyle and training was always different from others because of it and since the surgery my BP is regulated, my heart, lungs and brain are all functioning at a level I have never had . I have been able to stop my BP medication, asthma medication, and salt supplements. I am very blessed God put me in the position and put the right people in the right places to find the issue and fix it. Since the procedure I have rode a little bit but nothing too crazy. I felt enough like myself today on the motorcycle to actually get the confidence to even write this after the wild year I’ve had so far. I will dive deeper into what exactly I had fixed physically one day and make a really cool video on the life long battle I have fought up until a couple months ago, but that time will come soon. On the bright side I’m extremely grateful for David Eller, and the whole entire @phxracinghonda for all of the support and I’m super excited to get to work this offseason and come out swinging in supercross again next year. But for now enjoy the videos and I’ll see everyone at some offseason races❤️ #bigboreveinkit #instabangerscoming
