Growing up in Huntington Beach I never understood how people could celebrate this country and be so racist(not everyone) and mask their racism in religion and politics. How could I celebrate the 4th of July and American patriotism knowing that I was not received in my own community? How could I celebrate knowing our government has lied to us about our identity, stolen our identity, land, citizenship, and made many of our ancestors prisoners of war?…I realize now that partying/celebration can be positive when you know who you are. We are beyond this flesh. We are sons and daughters of the creator! A true son or daughter of the most high is someone that can acknowledge the rights and wrongs of a nation, pray for his enemies, and understand that the creator will bring justice and reconciliation to the land [if we let him] Although it is important to speak up/stand up for injustices, our protests, parades, and legislation cannot fix the long term issue of a hardened heart…Only the supernatural power & love of the Holy Ghost(not religious dogma) through continual prayer, fasting, and righteous deeds can transform a man and heal a nation. We need a movement of God in our communities. Let’s pray.
