Wait, what? You recognise that voice on an ad on Boom Radio, Absolute Radio, Classic FM, Gold Radio, LBC, Magic, Smooth, Talk Network, including talkSPORT and talkSPORT2, and Virgin Radio. Yep.

Watched the original series go out, then asked him to sign the book when I was directing an OB covering the opening of the Earth galleries at the Natural History Museum. #HappyBirthdaySirDavid

Joy! When both your subscription gins arrive on the same day! One from Orkney itself, the other from pretty close by. (And neither a million miles from Tw*tt.)

Some very kind words written about me, that would not have been possible without every other single member of this beautiful @thehistoryboyslondon cast. Thank you! 5 ⭐️ : "This show was performed at such a high standard; there could be a paragraph regarding each actor, so to abbreviate this commendation; every single cast member is phenomenal. Individually and collectively they knock it out of the park. What a triumph!" (London Pub Theatres) 5 ⭐️ : "Among the standout performances was Duncan Hess as the unsettling and deeply flawed teacher, Hector. His portrayal was so convincing that it occasionally became difficult to watch.” (London Theatre1) 5 ⭐️ : "We completely understand why the boys love this teacher, which makes the twist even more crushing. Hess really challenges us in his portrayal, making him absolutely perfect for the role." (ThespianMeg) 5 ⭐️ : "Duncan Hess brings real presence to Hector… This is the kind of production one might expect to see at the National Theatre or in the West End. It would not be surprising to see it transfer, and it would be richly deserved." (Roviews) @miranda_shoots_photos

I cunningly chose gastropubs for quite a few “Newsnight” OBs…

Absolutely amazing first trawl as a licensed mudlarker. Part of the tea service that Queen Victoria gave to Marie-Antoinette on the eve of her execution. A bottle broken aboard HMS Beagle as Sir Walter Raleigh celebrated inventing the potato. And an antenna from the U-boat that delivered Rudolf Hess to Westminster. (Small print: “Provenance as yet unconfirmed.”) PS You need a permit. #mudlarking #QueenVictoria #Beagle #Rudolf
