In 2005, long before I had ever penned my first rap verse, I randomly decided to learn all of the lyrics to R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World As We Know It.” I remember sitting next to Casey Peterson in Ms. Hodgkinson’s Physics Class, as we both mused over the mouthful of words comprising those verses… before the bell rang and we had to learn about gravity or some shit.
A few weeks ago I started performing that song with @stickmartinshow , having seemingly retained memorizing the bulk of those lyrics.
