Introducing, We All Hurt 💔🫂

This film, Subhan’Allah, took so much out of me. It’s the most ambitious film i’ve made up to date. It’s definitely not perfect but Alhamdulilah it’s my little baby. Literal blood sweat and tears from when we started mid December to end of March / beginning of April. However, the same week we started, I injured my back which delayed the timeline but Alhamdulilah continued but then even more obstacles occurred involving multiple cast members in the ER, crew members dropping, lots of changes in plans that made me direct, be on camera, and audio all at the same for majority of the film but truly everything happens for a reason Alhamdulilah and it became worth it in the end.
So so extremely thankful to the amazing cast and crew I’ve gotten to work with on this project! Additionally, thankful to the people of knowledge who reviewed the script to make sure it follows within Islamic guidelines. It was extremely challenging but also really fun from writing to producing and
seeing the vision come to life :’)
Now i’d like you to recall your past day, week, or month. Think about all the different people you met or even passed by. From the grocery store clerk, to a mutual at the gym or work or school, to even your best friend and family.
Regardless who it is, you may have no idea what anyone is truly going through. We are all struggling, we all have our own unique tests, we all hurt, but we’re not alone.
There’s resources out there, trusted friends to talk to, imams and sheikhs people of knowledge. Reach out if you’re feeling lost and also be mindful that others might be a little lost too even if everything seems fine on the outside. That is a start on how we can aheive unity in the community Insha’Allah.
One Hadith this film was based around was, and i’m paraphrasing here, but when our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said when one part of the body hurts, the entire body is in sleeplessness and fever and pain. So when one of us hurt, we all hurt.
And that is what this film is about, that and the magic of friendship and all that good stuff.
