We caught our old friend, award winning bluesman, Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of Blues Legend Lonnie Brooks, at the Ventura Music Hall last weekend. I miss his dad with all my heart but Ronnie is the next level.
And when it comes to classic Guitar Blues, he is “tending the fire, not worshiping the ashes” as old bluesman Gustav Mahler might say.
He opened for CoCo Montoya - another Blues Legend. It was a great night of Alligator blues.
If he plays anywhere close to where you are, go see him and enjoy some genuine houserockin’ and see if he’s “…feeling you” and if “the Blues are in your DNA!”
