The world lost a beautiful musician today. I’m extremely saddened to learn about the passing of @jillsobule . I used to obsessively listen to her music when I was growing up—her lyrics felt like they were painting a picture of my life. In 2021, I was lucky enough to have her perform an acoustic set in our backyard for my birthday, surrounded by friends. It was one of the most special full-circle moments. Huge thanks to our mutual friend @poseymfg for making it happen. Rest in peace, you beautiful songbird.

This Jiu Jitsu “take-down” pic got lots of love in stories so adding to grid ♥️ Thanks for all the positivity shown toward Amelia. She’s a tenacious little lady!
Vermont Photo Dump! We spent a week in the beautiful mountain town of Killington, VT. Amelia attended @farmandwilderness Barn Day Camp while @joshgudwin and I relaxed and recharged in our peaceful cabin in the woods. Highlights included mountain views, wood fires, animal sightings, incredible BBQ, friendly locals and ice cream from nearby dairy farms!
Record Plant provided me many gifts. 20 years ago, my first job working for Rose @manncherney as a Record Plant CSD and later assistant to owner Rick Stevens. During that time I met an extraordinary talented music man, then Chairman of @geffenrecords@ronfairmusic who hired me as his executive assistant. We pretty much lived in SSL2 for years along with Angry Mike and the late great Tal Herzberg. I had a front row seat to the making of legendary records by @ladygaga@blackeyedpeas@queenlatifah Keyshia Cole @therealmaryjblige Snoop Dog @nicolescherzinger . During that time, in the halls of Record Plant, I also met my husband @joshgudwin who was engineering for @esterdean in SSL1 at the time. And many years later I started my own company and came back again to lease office space upstairs.
At Record Plant I made great friends, had strong mentors, acquired talented clients, met my musical heros, laughed, cried, pilfered toiletries, learned how to duck & dive and spot snakes in the grass…. and most importantly fell in love with my husband who I now have a beautiful family with.
I will always cherish the Record Plant and hope that 1032 N Sycamore can remain a functional recording studio so we can one day walk the halls again and feel the history. RIP my friend.
