Turning passion into purpose đ¨
On Thursday, May 28, Greenwich Art + Design is hosting something genuinely unusual with artist Joel Bermano: an evening where the ticket you buy pays for a childâs surgery. It's called: Paint for Smiles!
Each $240 ticket funds one cleft lip or palate surgery through Operation Smile â 100% of proceeds go directly to the organization. No administrative carve-out. The math is direct: 75 guests, 75 children.

âTHE ALIENS ARE HEREâ 28 individual canvases make up this magical 8 feet by 8 feet Octopus. Created about 4-5 years ago. It was such fun making it. An Octopus is one of my favorite of GODS creatures.
âTHE GIFT OF SIGHTâ My new beautiful painting that will be on display @greenwichartanddesign starting Thursday.
Four months in the making. I still have a few finishing touches and of course the Multi Million Dollar Bermano Signature. @schipanipr
âLIFT OFFâ marks the beginning of everything.
Painted in 2011, this work celebrates the launch of my artistic journeyâthe moment I stepped fully into my purpose as an artist.
I imported gallons of oil paint from overseas to create it. The surface is built with extraordinary densityânearly sculptural in formâwith approximately 90 pounds of pure oil paint layered into the composition. The finished work, including its frame, weighs close to 180 pounds.
This was not a painting that could be rushed.
It took seven months before the surface cured enough to even be tilted to a 45° angle.
âLIFT OFFâ is not just a paintingâit is a statement of commitment, risk, and belief. Every inch reflects the intensity of beginning with nothing but vision and pushing forward with absolute conviction.
In 2016, the work was acquired by a serious art collector, marking an early validation of the Bermano vision.
Extremely thick. Bold. Unapologetic.
A true origin piece.
This piece was sold in 2017 to my biggest collector and was painted in 2012. This is what I truly believe. Miracles are not just those few moments in a life where you say a miracle happened. In Bermano Land every second of the day is a Miracle. #miracle #faith #god
