“Me or You ?”🤍 This is a piece I was able to choreograph as a senior at my school. The message & theme behind my piece is learning to let go of your past whether it be a traumatic experience,a toxic relationship or environment,bad habits,etc, & learning to choose yourself because your well being is way more important. Within my piece you’ll see a more personal story being told where you’ll see me struggle between staying attached to my dark past or making the choice to choose myself with the support of my friends & family.
Special thank you to my outstanding cast for really bringing my vision & story to life,my beautiful duet partner who was so patient with me throughout this whole process & just made the piece 10x better,my friends who had to hear me cry,complain,struggle,& all since the beginning till now,& lastly to my amazing dance teacher who pushed me way out of my comfort zone & helped me succeed in every way. I’m beyond grateful for each & every one of you & I love yall forever & always ❤️

This video has been sitting in my phone a little over month now but God has placed it on my heart to share it. At first I was hesitant to share because the perfectionist in me wouldn’t allow me to. But I’ve realized this piece was deeper than “Perfection”
I realized that God was speaking through each of us & allowed us to tell a story through our movement as both a group & individuals. Watching this piece brought me to tears because it made me realize how much of a blessing it is to be blessed with the gift of dance! Dance is about being able to tell a story through your movement & how it makes you & others feel. It’s something that isn’t meant to be perfect, it’s something that’s meant to be authentic, real, & felt! I pray that watching this someone has felt seen, heard,understood, or even inspired because that’s what dance is about!
Forever grateful for my Church family for allowing me to share my gifts & talents but also helping me grow within my gifts & talents. Thankful for the beautiful girls I was able to dance with & also put my choreography on. I love you all dearly. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did! 😇❤️
