Tonight I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the legendary @blackspectrumofficial Spectrum Theater to experience the powerful production of “History of The Black Press – The Ida B XPress,” brilliantly written and directed by Michael Green!
What an inspiring and historically rich theatrical experience honoring the fearless legacy, brilliance, courage, and cultural impact of Ida B. Wells.
Special congratulations to my cousin Chaunice Chapman (“Spirit Ida”/Narrator) and my friend Ria Alexander (“Ida B Wells”) for their commanding and heartfelt performances. You both carried the spirit, fire, and truth of this story with excellence and purpose.
I left uplifted, informed, culturally grounded, historically awakened, and encouraged to continue doing more to preserve, honor, and amplify Black stories, Black truth, and Black excellence.
Bravo tutti to the phenomenal cast, crew, creatives, and production team for a job exceptionally well done!

Standing in the sacred stillness of Cleveland’s historic Lake View Cemetery, I had the profound honor of joining The Drifters in celebration of the life and legacy of Alan Freed — the man many know as the “Father of Rock ’n’ Roll.”
Presented in partnership with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, this moment was bigger than performance… it was history breathing through music.
On this day, we sang several classics from that golden era, but “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes” carried a special kind of spirit — timeless, haunting, and filled with the heartbeat of a generation that changed music forever.
Ten years later, I still carry the gratitude of being trusted to lend my voice to such a meaningful tribute.
The music lives on. The legends live on. And as long as we sing… they never truly leave us.
