Once upon a time, the asphalt was old and sleeping.. it had started to erode from rubber tires commuting, had grown weary from stop and go traffic, was tired from constant horns honking and runners stomping their feet from here to there. One morning, when fog took over the clear, crisp air on the surface, it felt a unfamiliar sensation.. it almost sounded like Thunder in the distance. As the storm seemed to grow closer and the thunderous sounds grew louder, the asphalt became anxious. Then in an instant, 4 polyurethane wheels zoomed by accompanied by a soul whose energy radiated beneath the surface and up into the cosmos. Arms up in the air, knees bent. Exploding with passion. Prior to that moment the asphalt was terrified, but after seeing the love and freedom that was resonating off of the skateboarder it became extremely content and at ease. In that split second as it watched the skater finish their decent, it felt purposeful, it realized that it made someone ecstatic, overflowing with life and adrenaline. As for you Pablo, you were one to make even the ground realize that, “life is fucking beautiful yo.” We’re gonna miss you, and we’re gonna ride for you. We’re gonna keep rolling up, and we’re gonna keep that Pspliff burning for an eternity. We ascend to descend, cause the send never ends.. till next time my friend. From NYC to SF and back around, from now to infinity and beyond. PABLO RAMIREZ FOREVER. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚 thank you. It was all because of you, and now it’s all for you. Love my g
I pulled up to this little skatepark down the block from my hotel in Germany, wanted to get some clips for my story and this happened.
I stopped skating shortly after this because I realized no matter what trick I did, regardless of the difficulty, couldn’t possibly compare to this little kids joy after I let em take my board and roll around. If you can’t hear it in his hype, you can easily see it on his face.
Skateboarding transcends language barriers, race barriers, athletic ability amongst countless other things.
We’re come one come all here, but my favorite part about it is the youth and the feeling that I remember that I got when I stepped on a skateboard as a kid over 20 years ago that kept me coming back for more.
Thank you skateboarding for all you’ve done for me in my life, I owe it to you to pass this thing of ours on for as long as I can. 🤞🏽💚
