Aprildoodles returns this month for an all-ages Junk Journaling extravaganza! You’re invited to bring your own junk journal-in-progress or start a new one from scratch. We’ll have lots of collage materials and a few blank notebooks on hand if you’ve never junk journaled before. Please also feel free to BYOJ (Bring Your Own Junk) to share! Join us on Sunday, May 17 12-3PM Tickets $5-25 sliding scale (link in bio or just show up!) Helpful tips for cultivating cool trash for your Junk Journal: ♻️ Collect wrappers, receipts, or other paper waste when traveling or just out and about running errands. 📩 Look inside your mail; some have cool patterns on the inside, especially privacy envelopes ✂️ Remove address labels or other identifying information you don’t want strangers to see 🧽 Clean off anything smelly or sticky from food packaging Artist Bio: aprildoodles I created #trashart out of a desire to consume less and do more with the waste that I create in my daily life. I use a mix of shipping materials, packaging and other random pieces of ephemera & trash that I have been collecting over time. #trashart provides a unique way of looking at my own impact on the environment, showcasing the afterlife of things that are discarded and finding meaning in what so many would consider waste. #TrashArt parties are casual creative gatherings where materials are supplied and everyone is welcome.
