School choice just got a federal upgrade. 🏫
Starting January 1, 2027, a new federal tax credit lets donors give up to $1,700 to a Scholarship Granting Organization and get every dollar back as a tax credit. Those funds go directly to families — for tuition, tutoring, textbooks, special needs services, and more.
States have to opt in, and 29+ already have — including Texas, Indiana, Georgia, Iowa, Tennessee, and even Colorado.
Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) have been leading the charge at the state level for years. This new federal program takes it further.
