On March 1st we welcomed our fourth son to our family! Over the last three weeks we’ve enjoyed countless baby snuggles and have been relaxing in our bubble as we adjust to life with our new addition.
I know how fast this time goes and I intend to enjoy every minute of it! I’m still taking inquiries but my response times will be longer than usual, so thanks for your patience!
New obsession: hand carved stamp prints!
While it’s not my usual lettering-related content, over the last year I discovered that I love the look of hand carved block prints. After watching tons of TikToks and reels of other artists creating this linocut style art I decided to try it out for myself. It wasn’t a perfect first try, but I still love how this little lemon print turned out.
I’ve found that trying different styles of making and illustration keeps my creativity fresh! I definitely want to keep experimenting with hand carved stamps. What other kinds of illustrations and prints should I try out?

Not a fan of using those tiny little pictures of chickens or cows on your place cards to indicate your guests’ meal choices? I have an aesthetically pleasing solution for you - color coding!
Simply have a color option for each meal choice (that coordinates with your wedding colors, of course!). These colored sea glass place cards are a great option. Let the servers know that blue place cards = chicken, pink = beef, green = vegetarian, etc. and they serve the same function as meal icons or a letter in the corner. But with a much more beautiful result!
Just be sure to select colors that are contrasting and easily discernible from a distance. For example, white and light pink sea glass pieces are probably too close in appearance and can easily be mixed up by staff.
This is one of my favorite tips to share with brides using place cards. Send this to a friend who will be having place cards at their wedding!

With only about a month to go until our new arrival I thought it was time to to officially share the news! We are expecting baby #4 in early March and are so thankful for the gift of another child. Me, my husband, and the baby’s three older brothers are so excited to finally meet him or her - yes, we left the gender a surprise again 💙🩷 I ask for your prayers over me and our little blessing as we get closer to the due date.
Naturally, I will be taking a step back on project work this spring to take time to rest and welcome the new baby to our family. However, I will still be reachable on here and via email, but may need an extra day or two to get back to you. I appreciate your continued support of my calligraphy business as I enter this new season with my growing family.

2026 is going to be a year of big change for me and my family! Rather than putting the hustle on, here’s how I’m being intentional with my business in 2026:
With the help of @writeprettyforme and her latest course I updated my back end systems so I can still keep important processes going and focus on client work in busy times.
I’m working on scheduling out my social media posts for the next few months so it’s one less thing I have to think about.
I’m almost done updating my pricing and services guides to better reflect my recent work and capabilities.
I’ve got some blogs in the pipeline showcasing my best work from 2025 to help new clients find my work - blogging and SEO has been huge for my website’s traffic.
It’s a long term project, but I’m working on some passive income options to diversify my income streams for slower seasons.
Last but not least, I’ve been trying new artforms to keep my creativity sparked. Winter is a slower time for weddings, so I’ve been using the extra time to experiement with pattern design. Block printing is next on my list!
Here’s to slow, but steady, business gains and ALL the handwritten lists in 2026!

2025 was the year of the lavender wedding for my calligraphy business! 🌿
I had several weddings and styled shoots feature unique, lavender details, and I have to say I never got tired of it. The soft purple touches added pops of color amid the ivories and whites of the rest of the wedding days, and paired perfectly with florals of all kinds. My favorite detail was adding actual dried lavender to printed wedding dinner menus, complete with a wax seal of a lavender sprig - I was not mad about all of the extra dried lavender that is still keeping my studio smelling amazing!
Sadly, lavender does not seem to be as popular for 2026 wedding colors, but rather bolder colors like burgundy. What wedding color trends are you seeing for 2026?
