A little Chanel-inspired detail I’ve been wanting to share — a delicate chain stitched inside the hem of a shirt.
I also have thoughts about how Chanel does this on the runway vs. how I do it. That’s coming next.
And speaking of shirts… I’m back. The Shirting Course starts again May 3rd — 4 days from now.
For those of you returning for round two (or three), I always have something new waiting: — this chain technique — a silk version of the shirt — a proper challenge — and behind-the-scenes development of a new shirtdress I’m planning to release
Link in bio. So happy to be back here with you.

It’s the second time I’ve taken the Mulberry Coat course by @thepatternline to master double-faced wool techniques, and I’m simply amazed. My Vestry coat is so soft and comfortable, and I used my fabric scraps to make a double-faced wool version of a pattern I love: the Dulce skirt by Bella. I’m so in love with this kind of fabric that I’m already planning to make a short jacket for fall. Stay tuned!

Ok, this was fun and what a way to start a year! #goldenglobes2026
As usual, the most interesting projects, are with team @joel_jolibeatelier . Thank you, Joel, for this opportunity ❤️!
The past couple of days have been beyond exciting! ✨
A year ago when I found out that @thepatternline was just „around the corner“ in Milan, I wrote her and asked if she would like to visit Vienna and maybe even teach a double cloth wool class in my studio. We finally made that happen the past weekend! So apart from a little sight seeing, lots of talking and sharing knowledge on patterns and techniques, Eira also taught an amazing class in my studio where we all learned so much!
We all quickly learned to appreciate all the work that goes into a double cloth garment like the Vestry coat she brought to show us (shown in first two photos). In the class we started by making practice samples. We then tried on a variation of scarf muslins she prepared and brought and then chose one to cut and work on. We started our projects and applied all the freshly acquired techniques and now have a good foundation for finishing the rest at home. Can’t wait to see everyone’s scarves that may be ready just in time for the cold season ahead!
Thank you Eira for sharing your knowledge and passion… not only for all the high-end techniques involved in making these luxury garments but also for all your expertise in patterns, tools, etc! I consider myself very lucky (and I think I can speak for the students as well) to have learned so much!
❤️

In a little while, it will be coat season again. And the double-face coat course by @thepatternline has just started! For me, it feels like a return journey—I joined the very first edition last year and made a beautiful coat that I wore all winter. You can see the process in the carousel. This time, I’m going for a shorter version. Stay tuned!

Finally I’m ready to show you my amazing #boweryshirt, the result of the Shirting Course by @thepatternline (ps. Next one is starting this week-end, don’t miss out!)
This year has brought many changes in my life, making it the perfect time to set an intention for 2025. I’ve moved to Italy to continue my education in pattern making and I’ve also set aside time for courses I’ve wanted to pursue for a while. This intention board template from @daughterjudypatterns is a great way to create my own visual guide for the new year, so here it is:
2025 Color: Still staying with neutrals in beiges and greens, with pops of brighter colors.
Vintage Pattern: don’t know much about it, but will be digging into Tom Ford for Gucci era for inspiration
Skill Enhancer: just purchased a tailoring course I’ve been eyeing for a couple of years, and it’s already surpassing my expectations (sorry, non-Russian speakers!).
On your “to knit” list: not a big knitter of late, but if I was, I’d do something very textural.
3 Personal Style Words: Minimalist, artisanal, elevated.
Batch Sew Basic: A white shirt—because you can never have too many.
Pinterest pin you can’t stop thinking about: Anything on Veronique Tristam (you’re welcome).
2025 Mantra or every year mantra: “Once you stop learning, you start dying.”
Take your time project: some kind of version of Dior bar jacket to really take advantage of the tailoring course.
Here’s to a year of creativity and growth!
