Thank you so much for all of your support, it truly means everything to our small family-run team.
The seeds have arrived 🌱🎃
One of the most exciting deliveries of the year… hundreds of thousands of pumpkin and squash seeds ready for planting season 🚜
What looks like silver packets now, in a few months will become the pumpkin fields you all know and love 🧡
And this year, we’ll have even more varieties for you to choose from…
It’s almost time to get planting 🚜
The moment they’ve been waiting for… 🐄☀️
The sunshine has finally arrived and the cows are making the most of it ☀️🐄
After a long winter, there’s nothing better than first turnout.
I think it’s safe to say they’re happy about it… 😅
🌿🐑 It’s lambing time here on the farm! 🐑🌿
Whilst we love sharing snippets of farm life with you, lambing isn’t something we open to the public.
We choose to lamb a little later in the year so that we can lamb outdoors, and for us there are so many benefits to this…
🌿 It’s a far more natural setting for the ewes, helping them feel relaxed and improving mothering instincts, which means less chance of lambs being abandoned or mismothered.
☀️ It’s a much healthier and more hygienic environment, reducing the risk of disease and infection.
🐑 Lambs born outdoors are often up and moving quickly, finding milk sooner and generally being stronger and more robust from the start.
🚜 It also means we can minimise our use of straw and hay, with the majority of ewes and lambs staying out in the fields where they belong.
Any ewes or lambs needing a little extra help are brought into our “maternity ward” for some extra TLC and support 🍼
And of course… outdoor lambing means we can start working on our farmer tans for the year too 😎☀️
We’ll keep sharing little glimpses behind the scenes, so keep an eye out for more fluffy faces! 💚

Happy Easter from all of us at The Patch MK 🐣🌼
What does Easter weekend look like for us down on the farm?
🐑 The start of lambing time (hello sleepless nights!)
🍫 Easter egg hunts with the family (human and animal family!)
🌿 A quick raid of the hedgerows for “spring décor” to bring the outside in.
🔧 Fencing… repairing all the bits the winter (and animals) have destroyed before the cattle go out.
However you’re spending yours, we hope you have a fantastic weekend 🌼

✨ NEW FOR 2026… ✨
We’re very excited to share that this year we’ve managed to source a very special variety of pumpkin seeds…
🌙 Glow-in-the-dark pumpkins 🌙
These rare seeds will be planted this May and, all being well, will be ready to illuminate the fields this October 👀
Perfect for late-night picking… no torch needed!
Just follow the glow…
Who’s coming to see them? 😏

The ground is finally drying up, and we’ve been busy out in the fields 🚜 ploughing as we begin prepping for this year’s crops 🎃
It might feel a long way off now, but this is where it all begins…
The fun starts here 🌱
There are certain jobs on the farm that I really look forward to each year… and some that I really don’t!
Seed ordering, however, is definitely one of my favourites 🌱
I love this part of the planning process, exploring all the new varieties to see which ones might add something extra to what we can offer this year.
It’s actually quite a long process, as every new variety needs to be researched carefully. We need to make sure it’s suitable for our soil and climate here at The Patch MK, as well as checking its resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew.
We also try to create a really good mix of colours, sizes and shapes, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy and hopefully a few new “wow” moments for our returning visitors too.
Looking at the seeds we’ve ordered this year… I’d say those boxes are well and truly ticked.
Now it’s time to turn our attention to preparing the ground for the season ahead.
Hard to believe that all the colour and pumpkins you’ll see later in the year start with something this small.

It’s back! ☀️
How long for though is anyone’s guess…
but hasn’t it been glorious to see sunshine for more than just a few minutes?
The sheep are certainly making the most of it.

February on the farm… 🌧️
Yep. Definitely a theme emerging.
Rain. Mud. More rain.
Then a little more mud for good measure!
The fields are saturated, gateways are no-go zones, and hay and straw stock are truly precious commodities. Every step tells you winter isn’t quite finished yet.
We’ve had the odd tease of a dry hour here and there, just enough to raise false hope 🌱
Spring is on its way… isn’t it?
We’re excited to be spending the next couple of days at the NFAN Conference.
Looking forward to learning, sharing ideas, and catching up with fellow farm attractions from across the country. Excited to see what ideas and takeaways the next couple of days bring 🌱
And it’s always a good party too 🎉😁
January at The Patch 🌧️
Same fields. Very different vibe.
Right now it’s wet, grey and muddy, but this is where the planning, fixing and dreaming for the year ahead begins.
And we can’t wait to share 2026 with you.
