We’re building the future of pelvic health, together. Huge thanks to Dr. Rebeca Seagraves @rebecasegraves_ and the Pelvic Health Network @pelvichealthnetwork for spotlighting what makes Origin’s model so powerful: expert, collaborative care that meets patients where they are. With our expansion into occupational therapy, we’re continuing to raise the standard of pelvic health care across the U.S.—and we’re hiring. If you’re a PT or OT who’s ready to be part of something bigger, we’d love to meet you. #PelvicHealth #WomensHealth #PhysicalTherapy #OccupationalTherapy #Hiring

Have you been formally introduced to your pelvic floor yet? If you haven’t, that’s why we’re here. Your pelvic floor is a complex set of muscles, ligaments, tissues, and nerves that stretch like a hammock from the pubic bone to the tailbone and between the sit bones. These are the FIVE major functions of the pelvic floor: 💖 Sexual Function 💧 Bladder & Bowel Control 🪢 Circulation 🤝 Stability 🫂 Support

May is Masturbation Month and we think it's a good time to say this out loud: Pleasure is part of pelvic floor care. If solo sex feels uncomfortable, painful, or like something your body just isn't cooperating with — that's information. A tight or poorly coordinated pelvic floor can make any kind of penetration or stimulation feel like work instead of pleasure. And it's treatable. As Origin pelvic floor therapist Dr. Sarah Clampett puts it: "Pleasure and sexual intimacy can be addressed as part of pelvic floor care. You can talk to your pelvic floor therapist about sex, and be informed about the science behind pleasure and arousal throughout your care." There's no TMI. There's just care that actually addresses the full picture. #pelvichealth #pelvicfloor #sexualhealth #pelvicpain #masturbationmonth

Most pelvic floor symptoms don't disappear on their own, they get more complex. The earlier care happens, the better the outcome. Dr. Uchenna Ossai, PT, DPT breaks down exactly what primary care providers can do differently — and why it matters for patients. #pelvichealth #pelvicfloor #primarycare #womenshealth #pelvicfloorphysicaltherapy

That dragging feeling after a workout isn't something you have to push through. Pelvic pain and pressure after exercise are signs your pelvic floor muscles may need support — not rest from the activities you love. The good news: pelvic floor PT can help you stay active AND feel better doing it. Women's Health Week is a good reminder that preventive care includes your pelvic floor. Most people wait until something feels seriously wrong before booking a pelvic floor PT. But a baseline assessment — even when you feel fine — gives you a picture of your "normal," helps you catch small changes early, and sets you up with a plan before issues compound. Your pelvic floor supports your bladder, bowels, core stability, and sexual function. It deserves the same proactive attention as the rest of you. The Origin blog has the full breakdown on who should get a baseline, what to expect, and when. #womenshealthweek #pelvichealth #pelvicfloor #pelvicfloorpt #preventivecare

Happy Mother's Day to every mom, caregiver, and person who puts everyone else first, this one's for you. We asked our clinicians to share their own little moments of self-care. Turns out, some of the best advice comes from people who really get it. Whatever fills your cup — protect it. You deserve it. #mothersday #pelvichealth #pelvicfloor #womenshealth #selfcare

Deep butt pain that won't quit, even after stretching? Your piriformis and pelvic floor may both be involved. The piriformis sits deep in the buttock and shares space, attachment points, and workload with the pelvic floor. When one is tight or overworked, the other often compensates — creating a cycle that's hard to break without addressing both. Pelvic floor PT is uniquely equipped to look at the full picture: hips, spine, piriformis, and pelvic floor together. Sources: Probst et al., PM&R, 2019. The gut, the brain, and the pelvic floor are in constant communication — and when one is dysregulated, the others feel it. IBS isn't just a digestive issue. The same nervous system pathways that drive gut symptoms also influence pelvic floor muscle tone, coordination, and pain sensitivity. Urgency, incomplete emptying, straining, and pelvic tension often exist in the same body for the same underlying reasons. Pelvic floor PT addresses the muscular and coordination piece of that picture. Not a cure for IBS — but a genuinely undertreated part of managing it.
