After a brief hiatus we are BACK
Ever wondered what the life of a self employed performer realistically looks like (espcially begore they've 'made it')? Or wondered if your life is looking the same as that of othwr grads? Well this week I'm going through what my life has looked like during the last month. We're not just posting the career wins, but showing you the audition rejections, the side hustles and the lack of sleep.
So join us for Episode 7 of The Open Call Queue, pod link in bio ๐
Our next episode came out yesterday! We're goring through everything to do with auditions, from prepping your rep to the day itself to make sure you've got everything you need to book that job๐ช
I also forgot to mention it in the episode but @auditioncheckup is great for helping with finding your rep

Some Actionable Steps from our social media episode. These are completely optional and depends entirely on what you think you need to progress your performance career on social media while also protecting your mental health๐
These are all things we discussed in episode 5, 'The Smartphone Hour' so give it a listen if you want to know more. And if you need some ideas for what pages to follow for step 2, the previous post has LOADS

Following on from our most recent episode about social media, I thought it might be helpful to make a post listing some of the accounts I mentioned/that have been helpful for me.
This is of course not a list of everything and everyone (as that would be very long and near impossible to create), it is also not a list of which companies/pages are better than others but simply what I follow and I have found useful.
So if you have no idea on where to start, this can be a good tool to help you begin.
If you know any other pages that have helped you comment and tag them below!
We discuss all the ways of using social media to further your performing arts career and also how to look after your mental health while you do in Episode 5- The Smart Phone Hour

(I also tried to tag all the pages but unfortunately there are more than the 20 tag limit on Instagram so as the audition page is the longest that is the one I haven't tagged.)
As mentioned in last week we will be releasing episodes fortnightly now, so you can look forward to your next opencallqueue fix on Monday the 20th!
In the meantime we can check in on how you're getting on with your Actionable Steps from Episode 4 - Putting it together
Now this is of course not the extensive list as there were lots of different actions you could take depending on what it is you already have sorted, and what it is you need, but here are some of the main ones from the episode.
You can listen to the full thing for some more detail and some other ideas (if you've already got all of this sorted)

New Episode!
We've finished with our Triple Threat Triangle for now so we're moving onto a new topic: Social Media
It can be a really useful tool for your career but as we all know it can also be a pretty awful place for our mental health.
So this week we're talking all about the best ways to use it and how to also avoid it having too much of a negative effect on our mood.

Episode 4 is out! We're on our final episode of our Triple Threat Triangle series, this week we're talking about Audition Admin. This is just my umbrella term for all of the little bits to get sorted that will either help you get into that audition room, or that you'll need once you're in there. Things like showreels, CVs, agents and more!
So get listening folks, podcast link in bio๐
Have you listened to episode 3 yet? If not then why not?
It's all about how to make a training plan for yourself after graduation (when you no longer have a timetable 5 days a week telling you what to do)
We're talking about different ways you can keep training (including if you're on a budget) and how to best formulate a plan that suits your goals and needs without over doing it. We're forming habits over here, not burning out๐ช
