Launching this statewide HOPE program in Stockton in partnership with California State Treasurer @fionamacpa and SUSD Superintendent Dr. Michelle Rodriguez during National Fostercare Month meant the world to be. My message to the youth was simple:
“I want you all to remember as you pursue whatever your dreams are that you matter. Your voices matter, your dreams matter, your future matters.”
Never ever tell a foster kid they won’t ever be anything. They may just grow up to run their city.
