What a thrill to have received this award that to me is legitimising and endorsing the work that has led to this point. And as I said, and many know, this is not the merit of just one person alone. Thank you to the UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences & UCC Research Office for the support of putting this proposal that made it into a successful award. 'No wo/man is an island, a piece onto her/himself … every wo/man is a piece of the continent.’ - John Donne (1624) See you on the other side of the (night) frontier, when the real work starts in September. In solidarity with nightworkers!

@wstraw new book #NightsinFairyland is in the mail. And it should be on your mail order. If you can't buy it. Nick it. It's that good. You'll love it!

Passion is power (because its strength goes way beyond where power ends). Passion is the sweet spot in the middle that lets strength sip in. Like in @daftpunk Veridis Quo beat.

This is about an exciting update on the new module that I convene: #NIGHTMATTERS On Life after Dark. The past three weeks since the #NIGHTMATTERS course has started, have been hectic and rewarding. I am so lucky to have the support from two fantastic people in this small team that makes it work and keeps it going. ☘️ Thank you so much to Gemma Mc Carthy (Administration Officer for SC2068) for all the work behind the scenes, and to the PhD Student on NIGHTWORK_FOOTPRINT project and Seminar tutor Destiny Nezam, who is holding the fort with seminar tutoring, and keeping the discussions going to engage the students' focus and interest. And thank you to the students without which there would be no teaching. The course complements the current project NIGHTWORK_FOOTPRINT in that it unpacks the praxis behind the method of 'nightnography'. While the project acts as the scaffolding that supports and makes teaching happen, logistically, financially.  In keeping with the expectations of the NIGHTWORK_FOOTPRINT project, my main chunck of my time (90%) is dedicated to this Pathway Project with Research Ireland while committing myself to teach up to 10% of the time on the “Night Matters” course on the BSOC Programme, at University College Cork, for these next four years. Of course, 'no man is an island' - and that is why I am indebted to the Friends and Colleagues, who have agreed to give guest lectures and seminars on this new module. It is both an honour and a pleasure to have you joining the forces in teaching this exciting module. And I hope that with each year the course grows and diversifies to invite more friends and colleagues to teach on it.  Thank you all for making this course by enriching the students' experience with each  guest lecture: Dr Ailbhe Kenny Dr Denis Linehan Fiona Collins Linda Curtin and David Keating Dr Robert Shaw Next week, we start with the first guest lecture by Tom Boland, and are students excited ... or what! An important message: swipe to read all. "This year has been a strong one for us in the studio. We’ve spent more time making music than at any other point since we began. Between the main studio and our own set-ups, we've been working flat out, and the support from you, our listeners and followers, has meant a lot. It keeps us moving and keeps the art honest. Nothing stays still, and that keeps the energy up. This project is a continuation of our Sleep Deprivation series, and a counterpoint to our recent Loud Ambient work. It's also our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. We want you to feel seen, especially if you are skint. We are still fans of music, and we know what it means when someone gives their time and attention. Your support this year has driven us to keep creating. It also allows us to stick to the DiY ethics, because we don’t want to deal with corporations that drain the life out of what we do. As a thank you, we’ve made this album "pay what you want", so if you are skint, you can pay nowt. Thank you. released December 5, 2025"

Just as I was about to finish chapter one ending with John Donne's timely quote 'No man is an ilslan...' in #tokyonoir by @tokyovice #jakeadelstein, I received the news that @ilsevanliempt received the welcome pack from #nightwork_footprint that I prepared. So, thrilled that, once again John Donne's words ring true today. As no work is done by one-man-show. NIGHTWORK_FOOTPRINT welcome pack is out!
