Hamiltonian Artists and The Nicholson Project present “I’ll meet you there”, a city-wide roving exhibition of contemporary video art. Showcasing the work of four DC artists, Stephanie J. Williams, Jermaine “jET” Carter, Edgar Reyes, and A.J. McClenon, “I’ll meet you there” will present video works that consider what it means to inhabit a space of uneasy familiarity—recognizable, yet quietly destabilizing. On view March 16 - August 15, 2026, the exhibition unfolds across Washington, DC through a combination of storefront video screenings, outdoor mural installations, and a traveling 20-foot video billboard truck that transforms the city itself into a moving gallery. Save the date 🚚 Opening Event Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 PM, at City-State Public House (@citystatedc ). Spot the truck tomorrow, Saturday, May 16 🚛✨ Follow the truck’s live location and route via the link in our bio. If you see it, snap a photo and tag us to share your sightings!! @jetcostudios is interested in how nostalgia operates, how ordinary tasks gain weight when revisited later in life. He places a boy in a dreamlike scenario, flying home with groceries in hand. The act of flight personifies the emotional weight of responsibility, transforming the mundane into the surreal. I’ll meet you there, presented by Hamiltonian Artists and The Nicholson Project, with support from @thedcarts and @bloombergconnects #meetyoutheredc #arttruck #videoart #publicart #thingstododc

Mark your calendars! 🗓️ Our resident artist Dee Dwyer (@deedwyerjonts ) and @chocolatecityexperience are closing out the Anacostia Mural Festival in style! #repost ___ The Chocolate City Experience @chocolatecityexperience in collaboration with the Anacostia Mural Festival @anacostiamuralsfest celebrates culture, community & art. Like Nina Simone said, an artist’s duty is to reflect the times… every mural, every story, every moment connected to this festival does just that. We’re a living museum and a reminder that our stories and people matter. Big love to The Capital Hill Boys Club @chbcartgallery the visionaries behind the Anacostia Mural Festival for trusting The Chocolate City Experience to curate this closing celebration honoring the people and artists who continue to move the culture forward, those here with us and those watching over us. We’re bringing those nostalgic vibrations honoring the good ol’ days! It’s going to be a beautiful day in Chocolate City…this is the place to be! _____ ID: Illustrated event poster for The Chocolate City Experience and Anacostia Mural Festival closing celebration on May 16th, featuring hand-drawn images of live performers, dancers, and vintage cars

Had the opportunity to document the unveiling of “Man of the Sky” by Jermaine “jET” Carter at DCity Smokehouse as part of “I’ll Meet You There” A city-wide roving exhibition presented by Hamiltonian Artists & The Nicholson Project. Powered through support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, this experience brought together storytelling, film, conversation, and the energy of DC creatives in a powerful way. From the artwork and artist talk to the drinks, food, and atmosphere from DCity Smokehouse, the entire afternoon felt like a celebration of Black Art & community. The Blank Canvus was honored to capture the experience. 📸

Man of the Sky is an animated work that pays homage to Jermaine “jET” Carter’s painting Man of the House (2025). The original painting came from thinking about how children, especially Black boys, are often asked to step into roles of responsibility early. These moments aren’t always dramatic; sometimes they’re as simple as carrying groceries or watching over siblings. Over time, those small acts quietly shape a man’s identity. This Saturday we’re celebrating the unveiling of @jetcostudios video art with a reception + artist talk you don’t want to miss! Hear from Jermaine about his work, in conversation with artist Keyonna Jones @kayemjay6 Saturday, May 9 at 1–3 PM at DCity Smokehouse in Anacostia ✨RSVP at the link in our bio #MeetYouThereDC #HamiltonianArtists #thenicholsonproject #thingstododc Man of the House, 2025 Inkjet transfer enhanced with gouache and color pencil on wood panel 11x14 in.
