Being the first to go through a high alpine trail is pretty much always an adventure. With just a hand saw, you never quite know if you will make it through. Luckily we only had to cut down about 10 logs and got through the rest, the steepness of that trail allowed us to push a lot of stuff off. Definitely a good workout, but it's such a treat to witness the high alpine forest start coming to life. #enduro #singletrack #endurolife
Definitely one of the best days out I have had on two wheels.
Riding downhill from over 12k ft and being alone out on this alpine trail, still covered in snow in parts, was an amazing experience.

Up at nearly 13000ft, fresh alpine grass, moss, moist dirt, wildflowers and waterfalls smell different.
Everything is a little fainter, quieter, fresher. The air often seems charged. And lightening with the gathering afternoon monsoon clouds is a something experienced mountaineers worry about.
A photograph is always just a photograph no matter the intentions.
Can’t wait to get back out there this season.

My friends @klmurphy_734 favorite motorcycle color is red.
He bought his, then shiny and new, 2006 Honda crd250x back in Dec of 2006.
This was his first full sized motorcycle. At 13 he was barely big enough to ride it. I doubt he reached the ground but the ground didn’t matter. The red motorcycle in the photograph was a very young man’s dream and joy and has continued being that throughout almost 2 decades taking him to places he has, no doubt, at some point only dreamed of.
It is still around.
No one knows exactly how many hours it has on it, but it’s *many*.
Despite years of enduro riding, endless wheelies and everything else in between, this bike still starts every time and does just fine at 13000ft. It’s all original including the plastics. Only the dash unfortunately gave out.
Even now, many years after his first ride on this bike, with number of other motorcycles at his disposal, Kevin still hops on the older red Honda on occasion.
I always like to think it’s to remind himself to keep chasing that same feeling he had as a youngster on a brand new machine.
I didn’t expect to get emotional writing this.
