Meet Fernando Sanchez Carriel, MFN's new Digital Communications Manager.
Fernando comes to MFN with experience across media, public relations, and advocacy communications — working with organizations focused on community power, social change, and grassroots organizing. In his role at MFN, he manages our digital presence across website, social media, and email, and supports our campaigns and docuseries work including The Lines We Live On.

$300 billion in profits. An 11.91% tax rate. And communities still fighting to breathe.
The 10 largest shipping companies in the world added $42.9 billion more in 2024 alone, while paying well below the global average tax rate of 21.1%.
Resources to fund clean air protections exist. What's missing is the political will to demand accountability from the corporations profiting off the pollution our communities live with every day.

On Thursday, April 9th, the Art Theatre of Long Beach was filled with the people who make this work possible.
Advocates, activists, members, family, and staff came together for the premiere of The Lines We Live On — and got to celebrate something bigger than a film: the legacy of a family that has been fighting for East LA long before cameras were rolling.
