The discussion guide for Episode 1 of The Lines We Live On is here. "Carry What We Cannot Keep" follows mark! Lopez and the legacy of his grandmother, Juana Beatriz Gutiérrez — a story about intergenerational leadership, community power, and the fight for clean air in East LA. The guide is designed for educators, organizers, advocates, and anyone who wants to go deeper — with discussion questions, context on environmental justice and freight pollution, and tools to bring these conversations into classrooms, community spaces, and organizing work. Find it at the link in bio.

Today is May Day — International Workers' Day. The fight for workers' rights and the fight for clean air are the same fight. Heavy-duty truck drivers who live next to freight corridors deserve safe conditions and clean air. That's what we're building toward. MFN membership applications close in 4 days, May 5th. If that work resonates, apply. Link in bio. #MayDay #JusticeIsInTheAir #ZeroMustMeanZero

$300 billion in profits. An 11.91% tax rate. And communities still fighting to breathe. The 10 largest shipping companies in the world added $42.9 billion more in 2024 alone, while paying well below the global average tax rate of 21.1%. Resources to fund clean air protections exist. What's missing is the political will to demand accountability from the corporations profiting off the pollution our communities live with every day. #JusticeIsInTheAir #ZeroMustMeanZero #EnvironmentalJustice

On Thursday, April 9th, the Art Theatre of Long Beach was filled with the people who make this work possible. Advocates, activists, members, family, and staff came together for the premiere of The Lines We Live On — and got to celebrate something bigger than a film: the legacy of a family that has been fighting for East LA long before cameras were rolling. mark! Lopez (@thatfoolmark ). His grandmother Juana Beatriz Gutiérrez. The community of East Yard. Generations of people who didn't wait for permission to defend the air their neighbors breathe. That's what filled the room on April 9th, these photos are proof. You can watch the full documentary in the link in our bio. #JusticeIsInTheAir #TheLinesWeLiveOn

"Earth Day can look like a lot of things. 🌱 Planting seeds 🧹 Cleaning up your neighborhood ♻️ Upcycling what we already have 🚶🏽‍♀️ Spending time in nature All of it matters. But for frontline communities, this work doesn’t happen just one day a year—it’s every day. It’s organizing for clean air. It’s fighting for the right to breathe with dignity. It’s building power so communities—not polluters—shape the future. That’s what you see in Episode 1 of The Lines We Live On. And it’s the work our MFN members are leading across the country. This Earth Day, take it one step further: 🎬 Watch Episode 1 (free + discussion guide) 📣 Share it with 3 people 🗓 Invite them to apply to join MFN (deadline: May 5) Because real change doesn’t just grow— it’s built, together. #EarthDay #JusticeIsInTheAir #ZeroMustMeanZero " #EarthDay #JusticeIsInTheAir #EnvironmentalJustice
