The Mostly Harmless Studio

As we step into 2026, we do so with deep gratitude and hard-earned pride. 2025 was a year of challenges and surprises—of learning, stretching, and trusting the process. It brought wins at film festivals, the joy of seeing our work released in theatres, and stories finding new audiences on OTT platforms. Each subtitle and translation at Sabtext.film has been an act of care—of listening closely and honouring a voice beyond language. We’re thankful to every filmmaker who trusted us. With renewed energy and eagerness, we look ahead to 2026, ready for new stories, collaborations, and possibilities.

Created in collaboration with @playcommunications for the unique, beautiful resort - Estuary Sarovar Premiere in Poovar island, Kerala by @sarovar_hotels A film is just a vague idea till a solid team comes together and actually makes it. Here's the full video of our latest Mostly Harmless creation, in association with @playcommunications . 🎬 (Long post follows) This project involved sleepless nights (obvio), playing hide and seek with the sun (Bade Bhaiya is fully of surprises!), impromptu 2 min massages (the resort's Spa team is simply fab!) and The Mostly Harmless Studio's very first shoot outside Maharashtra... in Bodhgaya, Bihar! ✨ Making a promotional video is a delicate balance (if you wish to strike one) between what the 'client' or 'market' demands and what we as filmmakers would like to create. But creating this film with the whole team at @bhumisparshawellnessretreat @marasasarovarbodhgaya was a real collaboration. Not only was the space visually inspiring and so calming, but the management and hotel staff went out of their way to make the shoot efficient and comfortable. Most shooting crews are rightly infamous for wreaking havoc wherever they go. But we hope the Mostly Harmless style of 'shooting as if people matter', was a memorable and fun experience for the staff too! We would like to thank our fantastic team: The most creative & tenacious cinematographer: @van.devi , ably assisted by @saurebhshindde The lovely @kamya.ahlawat - what a natural presence you are! @aabha_soumitra - our intuitive music whiz and @srikanth.kabothu - the super talented colourist. You guys made this happen! 💕 And of course, produced by @meerpood and edited & directed by @radhika.murthy - Yours truly. A special shoutout to @sanover_srivastav , @divyabornfree for being our agency anchors through the whole process. @playcommunications has our heart. ❤️ Here's to more collaborations, more joyful, feminist filmmaking, all the way! 🐳

And it’s a wrap! The two day shoot gave us some amazing lessons in team work, collaboration and execution. It was great working with the team at The Mostly Harmless Studio including Radhika Murthy (Director) and Saleel Pathak (Director of Photography) along with Meera Krishnan (Exec Producer) and Swapnil Kulkarni (Sound Engineer). Three cheers to you guys! Your hard work and dedication to getting every shot right gives us much to learn! 🙏 . . .

We are very grateful to @spiffpune for organising the festival so well and for showcasing our work. This is our second year with our second production at @spiffpune . It was as usual an honour to have our film screened at @nfaiofficial . And our special thanks to our audience and our friends who came for the screening. All in all, it’s a wrap for 2022. Excited to announce that our 2nd Mostly Harmless Production - "44" has been selected in the Competition section, at the Smita Patil International Film Festival! Directed by Meera Krishnan, the film is a reflection on the deep loneliness within us, despite living in an era of frantic communication. Please join us at the screening on 18th December 3:30 pm onwards at the National Film Archives, Prabhat Road. @spiffpune

A glimpse from the recent screening of “How was the Date?” at the Beyond Borders Feminist Film Festival at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. We are grateful to @kritifilmclub for organising the festival so beautifully with a wonderful curation of films.
