The Miserable Rich live at Elfer Club in Frankfurt on 27.03.2026
@themiserablerich are a Brighton band known for their lush string arrangements, intimate storytelling, and beautiful melancholic sound.
After a long break, “The Miserable Rich” returned for a short tour in Germany. It was great to see the band again at @elferclub in Frankfurt. Many fans who have supported the band over the years, travelled from afar to Frankfurt for a chance to see the band play their enchanting and emotional chamber-pop. They performed many old favourites as well as new music from their latest album “Overcome”.
It’s always an absolute pleasure to see this band perform. Thanks to the band much for coming over to Germany and we all hope you’ll be back again soon 🫶
Thanks also to @kennethminorband who was brilliant as support

@themiserablerich have overcome💜
One of my dearest musicians who‘ve been keeping me company through good and bad times since theor first album in 2008
I am not the inly one in Frankfurts club „Elfer“ singing, laughing and crying at the same time.
The crowd is bathing in this heartwarming energy of these musicians/slash/friends who are brave enough to share with us their stories of love, loss, grief and true friendship.
Thank you for this lovely evening!
I couldn‘t find the words to express my gratitude for this wonderful experience, so I bought a Miserable Rich Hat.
Glad to listen to @kennethminorband supporting the show!
Yes, music and arts, made by real human beings, do matter💕 Support and by their music, hats and shirts, go to concerts✊

Coming towards the final stop on our remix adventure, we circle back to the very beginning.
I wrote Pisshead sometime around 2004, when The Miserable Rich was barely more than a glint in our collectively optimistic 20/20 eyes. It was one of the first songs I wrote on a classical guitar I’d bought purely because my left hand refused to cooperate with anything more ambitious.
Despite persistent rumours, it’s not actually about me. It’s about the drinkers on St James’ Street in Brighton — the ones who’d approach you all bold and booming, only to reveal, a few minutes (and perhaps a confessional pint) later, a softer, sadder heart. There’s a bit of that in Brighton too.
I still have a soft spot for the original mix. I managed to catch the attention of Skint Records by bringing the boss, Damian, a Bloody Mary and a roast dinner, still in my waiting gear (a friend used to call me ‘the singing apron’), on a wet Monday. He thought a ‘James Grape’ album might be work on the newly expanded Skint roster, so I get a band together.
Their entire office came down to see one of our early gigs. Things were going beautifully until, three songs in, I swept my arms with what I thought was flair and instead baptised my laptop in a full pint of beer. I had to pick it up and pour it out. The audience watched in unified horror.
Shortly after that, Iet Mike and Will and realised acoustic music might be safer.
We’re delighted now share Lylt’s gorgeous remix — tender, spacious, quietly devastating — alongside Will’s wonderfully English Atlas Crease cover, which feels like it’s always existed somewhere between drizzle and dusk. A proper joy, both of them.
And of course, we had to include Hungover. No remix this time, but the alternate version might secretly be my favourite. (Don’t tell the others.)
Have a listen. Raise a glass — preferably away from any electrical equipment — and let us know what you think.
