@loam.story 's first ever exhibit was a lovely cross between discovery, exploration and play for kids! (and for all the kids at heart) I had the honour of conducting a workshop for them which explored picasso's cubist masks and how kids reimagine the masks 🎨👩‍🎨👨‍🎨 With the dual exhibhits of Woke Up A Dinosaur by @vinayaksarwankar and Scribble on the Wall, a group exhibition curated by @anicamann , kids and adults alike had the opportunity to be uber creative. The exhibition was a super interactive space with jenga blocks, stickers, I spy sheets and most importantly, the whole space was transformed into a large gallery exhibit. To the kids' delights, the kids could quite literally scribble on the walls! 🖍 Can easily say this was the most fun and interactive exhibit I have experienced so far and was so glad to be a part of it ❤️ (Kids events, kids experience, kids art, art workshops in mumbai for kids, kids craft, workshops for kids, experiences for kids in mumbai, art gallery, gallery workshops, parents day out, loam story, scribble on the walls, fyp, explore, trending, mumbai art workshops, kids events, kids arts and crafts, picasso, picasso masks, cubism, gallery event, mumbai things to do)

Planning To Make It Green by Vinayak Sarwankar Mixed Media on Wooden Panel | 8” x 10” | 2025 A peak into artist Vinayak’s mind, that looks at the world not as a canvas - but as a colouring book. The simple magic of choosing a different crayon, different color of paper, to help turn a brown landscape into lush greens. This work is on view at Method Kala Ghoda as a part of Vinayak’s solo exhibition, “Woke Up A Dinosaur”, curated by Anica Mann, presented by Loam. DM @themethod.art for more details and enquiries.

Ignorance Is Bliss by Vinayak Sarwankar Mixed Media on Wooden Panel | 8” x 10” | 2025 Ignorance Is Bliss brings out elements of adulthood that, to a child, would appear to be objects of play. Machines, robots, the darkness from a polluting factory being used as a backdrop for a hand puppet. All of this is set against an idyllic background - a blue sky, a yellow sun, a green park - ignorant of things happening outside a child’s small bubble. This work is on view at Method Kala Ghoda as a part of Vinayak’s solo exhibition, “Woke Up A Dinosaur”, curated by Anica Mann, presented by LOAM. DM @themethod.art for more details and enquiries.

The Cat’s the Best Part by Vinayak Sarwankar Mixed Media on Wooden Panel | 36” x 48” | 2025 The dark shape in The Cat’s the Best Part signifies the mysteries that childhood is wrapped in. The mysteries of life, of the stories one reads, of the the unknown painted by imagination. Perhaps it just might lead to an X marked treasure. The mystery of this artwork hides life, light, the colour of the sun we’ve all drawn in the corners of our pages. The scattered elements are the world through a child’s eyes and memories: an incompletely remembered building, a playground with imaginary friends, the view from a bedroom window, butterflies and animals from storybooks, and a cat to run after and pet. This work is on view at Method Kala Ghoda as a part of Vinayak’s solo exhibition, “Woke Up A Dinosaur”, curated by Anica Mann, presented by Loam. DM @themethod.art for more details and enquiries.

Have you ever wondered what became of the dinosaurs that roamed your childhood imagination? They linger within us, dormant yet vibrant, ready to stir in Vinayak Sarwankar’s solo exhibition, Woke Up a Dinosaur, opening tomorrow at 2pm. In this evocative presentation, creatures and fictional figures converge with the elements of our youth-filled childhood playgrounds, dinosaurs and animated characters alike, climbing up and down slides, see-saws, and monkey bars. A scene that once unfolded instinctively and joyfully, now gently underscores the shifts time brings to our physical forms and imaginative capacities. The exhibition dissolves the divide between reality and fancy, extending backward to rekindle adults’ innate sense of wonder and forward to welcome children into art unbound by limits. Woke Up a Dinosaur honors the vivid realms we once fully inhabited, those we still hold inside, and the boundless horizons that unfold when imagination awakens for the young, and the eternally youthful. Opening tomorrow, Woke up a Dinosaur is on view till the 5th of April.

“Where is Jennifer” starts as a playful search. It follows a boy trying again and again to capture Jennifer Aniston’s presence. Each drawing becomes stranger, teaching the young artist that sometimes failure can be the inspiration behind new, unseen ideas. Artist Aditiya Singh’s work grows from what he observes in his friends and family. What begins as a habit becomes a nightly routine, painting the surfaces of his room with whatever is on his mind. His work holds chaos, jokes, and the intensity of his dream-like thoughts. Colour in his work shows feeling rather than description, changing based on his mood. His images are not meant to be neat or finished. They stay open, raw, and honest. His journey is about accepting the unfinished, allowing many meanings to be portrayed instead of one simple story. A graduate of the Rachna Sansad Academy of Fine Arts, Mumbai (2017), he works primarily with acrylic, ink, watercolour, and mixed media. He has exhibited his works in various galleries and created artworks for feature films. His collaborations include album art for Lifafa’s Superpower 2020 and visual work for Peter Cat Recording Co. and other contemporary musicians. Aditiya’s solo show, “Where Is Jennifer?” is on view at Method Kala Ghoda until 28th Dec, 2025. DM @themethod.art for more details and enquires.

Umika Mediratta Shriram believes that true creativity flows from one’s connection to nature. Currently based in New Delhi, her practice spans painting, photography, installations and art talks. Drawing inspiration from nature, Umika uses colours, textures and forms that reflect both the natural world and human emotion. Her works capture a sense of movement and mood, inviting viewers to slow down and experience the world through her perspective. About a decade ago, she began working with Thangka painting, a traditional religio-magical art form from the valleys of Dharamsala and Bhutan. Umika has exhibited her works across various galleries in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Seoul. With two more days left for our current show to end, we once again ask: what shifts when we see land not as possession, but as community? The works in Thinking Like a Mountain invite us to contemplate how our inner lives transform when nature becomes mirror, mentor, and home. Drawing from Aldo Leopold’s timeless reminder of reciprocity, the exhibition, curated by Sneha Shah, traces an eco-centric arc of human evolution inspired by Bill Plotkin’s Nature and the Human Soul. It considers what we lost in the industrial age - when life after childhood collapsed into productivity - and what becomes possible when we restore our instinctive bond with the natural world. Each artwork reflects a developmental stage aligned with nature’s rhythms - from Innocent in the Nest (Early Childhood) to Sage in the Mountain Cave (Late Elderhood). Through these stages, Thinking Like a Mountain invites a return: to land, to soul, to the ancient recognition that our lives are braided with the living world. Featuring works by: Jennifer Lewandowska, Jignesh Panchal, Laxmipriya Panigrahi (courtesy Anant Art), Meghna Singh Patpatia, Rohan Joglekar, Seema Kohli (courtesy Tao), Shivangi Ladha, Thukral & Tagra (courtesy Nature Morte), and Umika Mediratta Shriram. The show is on till tomorrow, 16th November. DM @methodindia for enquiries on available works.

Thukral and Tagra are a Delhi-based artist duo comprising Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra, their multidisciplinary practice spans painting, gaming, archiving and publishing. While their early works explored themes of global consumerism, their recent focus on ecology and climate change revisits their family roots in Punjab, shaped by histories of migration and farming. Through immersive, multi-sensory installations, the duo invites audiences from all walks of life to experience art without barriers, challenging the conventions of what is often considered “high art.” Beyond their studio practice, Thukral and Tagra have founded several initiatives that expand the reach of art into everyday life, including Pollinator and Archive. Their works have been featured in more than 30 exhibitions across various galleries in India, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Dubai, France and USA.
